Sanity

"Life is beautiful much more so for those not bothered by the confines of sanity."- Constino

There's a light that shines through the cracks of my heart.
How fast it beats is how bright it shines through.
It's a kindness I bear through a messy cruel world.
Is it ever too late to turn back the hands of time?
If they are broken, we'll mend them with hope.
What could I do? I am but a man.
There isn't much I can do except maybe try.
It's never too shameful to smile or even to cry.
It's emotion, there's no need to say why.
I'll stand as I fall once again and again.
You could call me reckless, you could call me insane.
But then I could ask you; of what value is sanity?
It is what it is and what it is is vanity.
You've got to look back after a thousand steps forward.
Start then again with a new wave of mistakes.
Discard there and then all worries and regrets.
You have to be free, don't have to be sane.
If you could fail, it's clear you might not.
Choose to remain rooted to a spot or take a step forward.
It sure is pricey to be but not to be, you cannot afford.
I'm capable of pretending to care
Or even to care.
It's not so hard, to be fair
You can choose to fit in a crowd or to stand out.
You can bet that I'm going to be different.
An enemy of fate.
It's not so big a price to pay,
Losing my sanity.
It's why with every word I write, I hope to inspire.
In other words to uplift you, I always aspire.
I'm a friend of madness, friend of a friend, I'm just a man with mortal worries.
Whose hopes transcend mortality, scoff at sanity.
Recite with me, so we can both be insane.

Hey! Thanks for your time
