142. A siren's tail

Everything is a little more possible
Once you've glimpsed a siren's tail
An improbable sight, it births a fable,
A search for magic on an invisible trail
Imagination fuels you, keeping you able
To dream while you're awake & sleep eludes
Suddenly, the insomnia is a precious gift,
The show goes on & on & it never concludes.
Until it finally does at the end of the grift,
Once you admit the fish was never half dame
Sometimes we simply see what we want to see
And thus willingly blindly we daydream.
Foresee the day the sky meets the sea,
At a place far beyond a sane mind's comprehension
Where the stairway to heaven begins,
Where a chosen few shall make their ascension.
Those that can soar unburdened by sins.
No wonder, the insane are the happiest,
They behold a greater world free of logic
The magic lives in those things unlikeliest,
It's in us all, ignored, it's almost tragic.
So, I pray it's not a fish's but a siren's tail.
