I'm here at your door calling your name,
I have been here before but it's not the same.
Lord I endured every challenge you sent my way.
Maybe I did deserve it, who am I to say?
My lord, I am humbler than about any man.
Though I may have wronged, I say sorry when I can.
I was right in the shadow as you formed your plan.
Can't you see, I was here ahead of the clan?
I was calling all this time, could you not reply?
I was here in the shadows, yet time didn't fly.
Can't you see, i'm tired from feeling alone?
Can't you hear, the echo that'll never be gone?
I am here on time, not a moment too soon.
I may seem indifferent but please, don't assume.
Lord I pray that this anger I have be contained.
I had more,I discarded, yet more still remained.
For long I had thought you'd forgotten me, dear lord.
Yet you called me by name, unburdened my load.
I am sad tis this tear you see on my cheek.
I am glad you can give those answers I seek.
Lord,I have borne more strife than should any soul.
Mother carried me this far, bore two thirds the toll.
Can't you see, it was just her and I to the end.
Can she hear the song of thanks to her that I send?
Lord, can't you see, I was a man well forgotten.
Thy world twisted me,my spirit was barely broken.
I have come to thee my lord, that I may heal, can't you see?
All the pain I endured,I shed tears to fill a sea.
Lord as I rest in my plot beneath the tree,
Unbind me, dear lord, from time that I be free.
I have so longed for a little peace for myself, can't you see?
