Over the next couple of weeks Izuku and Katsuki were studying together. A lot. For every class. And honestly, half of the time it doesn't even need to occur. Their grades were wonderful, and they were paying extra attention in class.

It was more an excuse to see each other. They would never admit it, but it was completely obvious. Katsuki was still typical Katsuki, and was even doing better now that they had their study sessions. He was acting like his normal self at school, and yes, that did mean he was an absolute ass to everyone in sight.

No one seemed to really pick up on anything going on between the two boys until Izuku started sitting with Bakugo at lunch. He would still make conversation with Iida, Todoroki, and Momo, but it was definitely a lot more Bakugo than anyone really liked. The others weren't offended (maybe Todoroki was) but it was more so a fear. What the Hell were those two up to?

The class of 1-A (Hell, even the teachers) thought it was kind of weird that they were hanging around each other. It was like the Twilight Zone was impeding on the school. But no one dared make a single comment about the friendship. They weren't asking for Bakugo to kick their asses.

Studying wasn't really what they did either. They would confess secrets amongst each other, and tell each other how their day went. It was kind of a time where neither was Deku or Kacchan. It was Izuku and Katsuki. They could just throw all of those personalities out the window and get comfortable amongst each other. At the end of the sessions, depending on the time, Katsuki would spend the night at Izuku's dorm room, or Izuku would spend the night in Katsuki's. Not in the same bed of course, the visitor taking the floor, and the owner sleeping in their respective bed.

But regardless, one common subject seemed to come up whenever they would get to talking at the end of studying.

Katsuki's continued distrust in heroes had begun to wedge a gap between Izuku and his morals. He has always believed that heroes were meant to save lives, that they were good at that job. He hadn't seen the imperfections in any hero. Not All Might, not Eraserhead, not even his young classmates.

It was all boggling his mind. Heroes were the good guys! He could've sworn, at least. He was so upset with himself for allowing Katsuki to get hurt by the Good Guys, but he was also beginning to get upset with himself for thinking the Good guys... weren't so good.

Katsuki wouldn't change his mind. Heroes were the bad guys. He wasn't at the point that Villains were the good guys, but he definitely teetered on the point. Izuku would try to reinforce some of their childhood back into his friend, that heroes really weren't corrupt and he'd just had a bad experience. But the more trauma that got dug up, the deeper Katsuki fell into his hole.

Besides the Sports Festival, Katsuki recalled something the both of them had experience with.

That Blobby villain, swallowing up a young Katsuki. When would it stop? Was it so willing to kill him? He was just a boy, barely a teenager. God, why did he have to end up in these shit situations.

That dayx Izuku had been the one to save him. No hero had made a grand appearance. The crowd gathering around him was huge. People were hollering and begging to the sky for some kind of savior. But no one was there.

Slime was filling Katsuki's orifices, his nose and mouth plugged up. He couldn't scream, his body was restricted, even his head was pounding from the slime getting into his ears. The slime he ingested soured his stomach, making the acid in his throat want to wretch. But he couldn't, he was trapped in a never ending cycle of slime. He was convinced this was going to be how he died. No more hero future, no more life. He'd die a little useless brat.

"It had been you, Izuku. You went out of your way to try and save me. No damn hero went after me. I could've died that way, you know how fucking scary that is?"
