This was crazy. This was stupid. What the Hell was wrong with them?
They were hidden in their cave, having made a makeshift bed out of their pillows and blankets, but the fact they were sleeping on a rock slab didn't make it the most comfortable thing. The mornings were cold, but it quickly warmed up, which made it pretty comfortable.
Every now and then the boys would hear the loudspeaker from the buildings, causing them to have a small moment of panic. It was really worrisome. What if they got caught? They would be in so much fucking trouble. That's why they just couldn't get caught. That life was over. UA was past them. Firstly, they just needed to get the Hell out of the forest.
Luckily the boys had their phones. They had a map that lead them to the city. It was simply a matter of getting up and getting out.
They took a couple of days to recover from the rather traumatic experience they had just endured before they started to pack up and plan their leave.
Izuku sighed softly, clutching his bags in his arms, looking over at Katsuki, who was packing up the blankets and pillows they used for their makeshift bed.
"This is really it, isn't it?" He asked to the blond, who leaned over and softly kissed his cheek. Izuku had tears in his eyes. He'd cried a lot since the event, partly out of fear and partly because he missed the life he had just given up. It didn't hit him until a day later when he woke up in the middle of the forest. It made him feel lonely. He missed Todoroki. He missed Iida. Ochaco too.
A part of him really wanted to go back. There was bound to be no villains back at the dorms. So what was holding them back? Why did they have to run away? Why did they need to start this new life? Was it worth it?
Katsuki had his mind made up, though. He wasn't going back. He heard the alarms and he heard people calling their name in the night to try and find them. But he just turned away, shut off any lights, tried to dull any fire. He didn't want to be found. He wanted this. He liked this. He was free. He was himself.
He gave Izuku ample opportunity to leave if he really wanted to. The first night they were alone, and when the blue flames had dulled, signaling the villains were gone, he told Izuku to go back.
"I don't know. I don't want to go back."
"Why don't you? Are you just saying that? You can leave. I'll be fine on my own. I'll call you, if you want. This will have to end though." Katsuki added, motioning to the both of them. They would have to break up. Izuku sighed, frowning, shaking his head."I don't wanna. I don't want to leave you. I don't want to leave this. Katsuki, I want to be with you."
Katsuki looked skeptical, crossing his arms. He doubted heavily that the boy wanted to stay with him. It just made him wonder what he was afraid of.
"You have more keeping you there than me. If you go back, I won't hate you. I'll understand. Izuku, I love you, of course I want you to come along with me. But I want you to be happy. If going back makes you happy, than goddamn it you better start walking."
Izuku frowned, tears welling in his eyes. Katsuki was crying too, sniffling and wiping his eyes. He grunted and cleared his throat, standing up straight.
"Go, Izuku."The green-haired boy teetered for a second, before he fell into the blond's broad arms. Katsuki sighed, wrapping his arms around his boyfriends waist.
"Your funeral, Midoriya."
"At least I'd die with you."Since then, it was decided. They'd stay together. They would run off together. They were both scared for the future beyond the forest, but it was bittersweet too. They wanted to be free. It was just their first step to getting there.
