It was a long couple of days. The boys were watched over by Dabi and Kurogiri pretty consistently to try and make sure they didn't do anything stupid, (and occasionally they were visited by Twice and Toga, to try and make them feel better).
It had been days since everything went down, and Shigaraki ordered everyone to let them spend time alone. He figured they were probably getting tired of everyone showing up uninvited. Though in reality, the boys were very thankful for the visits. It let them not get stuck in their own heads. They both had a lot to think about, because the events that had just transpired were forever life-altering. Neither of them had any idea what would become of them now. Sure, the League continuously said they did the right thing, and that the press was always a good thing. But it was kind of intimidating. Constant reminders of the bad things they'd done. Now everyone knew. They couldn't hide in the shadows anymore.
Katsuki had come home very late the night he killed his parents. Kurogiri had sent him through the portal to get him in the apartment but he couldn't stick around. He needed to be alone. He could barely look Izuku in the eyes when he has gotten home. It didn't take long for his lover to realize what he had done either. His body reflected his actions with the matter splattered across his clothes and skin. So he went to the old abandoned house that he and Izuku broke into when they first ran away. It was securing for him. Reminded them of when things didn't make as much sense. Their paths weren't written in stone for them yet. They were simply alone. He was alone. And he was able to wash all of the blood off of his body there as well. He was covered in it.
The physical reflection of his actions didn't arrive until he had touched the tile of the shower. Flashing images of his parents bloodied corpses filled his mind, eyes stinging with tears. He knew he had done the right thing, thinking of all of the pain they had brought him. How his dad still brought up their secret as he was killed. How could he have ever forgotten those events? He'd barely let anyone touch him since it happened.
Panic raked through Katsuki's frame, and he threw up with the same vigor Izuku had done so earlier that morning. It splattered against the shower wall and the drain, and reminded him instantly of the smeared blood of his mother on the white walls of his childhood home. His stomach lurched and spun as the contents were emptied violently. His throat grew sore from his sobs and pleas for the sick to stop, the acid staining his breath with guilt. He had time to think over his actions too. He knew what he did was wrong. He was no better than Izuku, he let his emotions get the best of him. He committed a double murder. He killed the people that gave him life. Whether they deserved it or not, he had still committed such an atrocity. He really was a villain now. He burned down his childhood home too, with his parents still inside. He could never forget the smell of their bodies beginning to char as he warped through Kurogiri's portal.
It was front page news the next day, considering his parents were rather famous costume designers for heroes. The neighborhood was quiet so it was shocking that such a violent and vile crime had occurred. It was immediately suspected to be a murder-suicide by the couple, which made it such important news. The parents of a newly crowned villain are unable to bear the thought of their shining son turning to the bad guys, and kill themselves. Or something. It made them look pitiful, not like the monsters they really were. It sickened their surviving son. But, regardless, Katsuki was just glad that they didn't track it back to him. Stupid police.
THREE DAYS AFTER THE INCIDENTS
"Oi, Deku. What are you doing?" Katsuki asked with a flaming curiosity. Izuku glanced up from the kitchen, having been doing dishes.
"Well, Shigaraki is coming over. I think it's just one more visit before they kind of give us some time alone. So I figured I'd clean up a little. I haven't really had the energy to do anything since—"
"Okay, it's okay. You don't have to explain yourself." Katsuki smiled faintly, but the smile bore that feeling of anguish both had been suffering with lately.
