"Kacchan, we have no money." Izuku said to Katsuki one day. Katsuki rolled his eyes in return.
"No fucking shit, Dumbass. How are we doing on food?"They were standing in the kitchen, Izuku stepping off to go look in the pantry. He frowned when he returned, rubbing the back of his neck.
"We only have a couple more days worth of food." He admitted softly, getting a low growl from Katsuki in reply."Well. We're broke and we have no food. This is just great." He muttered softly. God, were they going to have to start rationing? No fucking way. This was their freedom. They weren't going to treat it like they were in war time. Katsuki forbade it.
"There's no need to get angry, Kacchan. We'll figure it out!" Izuku said confidently, smiling up at his boyfriend. Katsuki just huffed, crossing his arms.
"I'll figure it out. We won't necessarily get money, but I can figure a way for us to get food." He said, flinching as Izuku wrapped his arms around the blonds waist.
"I know you can do it! I have all of my faith in you. Just come get me when you're ready to go out." Izuku hummed, kissing Katsuki's cheek before walking off to the room to go write in his journal some more. It was a good way of reminding him what day it was, but also was very therapeutic to write in when they faced any problems. And running out of food and money was a big fucking problem.
Katsuki was torn. He didn't know how to get anything accomplished easily. He had a few ideas, but they all sucked. They couldn't get jobs because they were on the run, so there was no way to make a stable income. They couldn't beg on the street for food or money because eventually someone would have to figure out who they were and report them to the police or to UA.
He wasn't about to ask for help from any of those damn 1-A kids, either. He was alone now. Alone with Izuku, that is. If he was asking for handouts, it would be like he never ran away in the first place. He didn't want it to be like that. He was done with them. All of them. He wasn't going to see them again, and that was final. And he wasn't about to ask some damn pro-heroes for help either. That would make him stupid and weak. And also that would mean he was just asking for trouble.
He didn't have parents either. As much as he wished he could rely on the security of those who gave him life, he couldn't. They kicked him out when they were told he was gay. His mother called him slurs and kicked him in his stomach and sides, slapped him across the face. Told him he would never amount to anything because he wasn't anything. He wasn't special. And she really believed it too. She was convinced her son was meaningless.
And now that he had run away from the one place he worked hard to get there, it most likely cemented to them that their son was a lost cause. Especially considering he ran away with another boy.The media had begun to speculate and spin stories about the relationship between the presumably missing boys. They pretty much thought that they were gay and were running away together because of an unaccepting school or something of the sort. They went as far as to bring it up constantly at the bi-weekly press conferences that UA and the police held to talk about the boys and provide any updates on where they were last seen or something of the sort. The school refused to admit to any relationship between them, though they did admit at one point they were not friends and then put aside their differences and became friends. They also refused to admit that the reason they ran away was from homophobia, and reminded the public that the League of Villains wanted to kidnap them. Damn tabloids.
The press conferences were normally relatively short because the boys never really left anywhere. They were good at staying hidden. So they weren't being seen and alas, they weren't getting reported.
Katsuki always got agitated when he would see Izuku glued to the television screen, watching the goddamn press conferences talking about them as they resided in their studio apartment together.
