New Jersey, Continuation From Last Chapter
Mattia's Room

Mattia's POV

"What's wrong?" I asked since Rhiya had stopped playing with my hair.

"It's my mom."

"What happened? Do you know if she's okay?" I ask as I sat up to look at her.

"I don't know, she just told me to call her." She explained. I read so many different emotions on her face.

The main ones were confusion, worry, and anger. I didn't even know that was possible.

"Okay, I'll be in the bathroom." I wanted more context, but I decided to let her take the call first, and then ask her after. Before I got up, I gave her a quick kiss. She smiled at me and I made my way into the bathroom.

When I was done, I brushed my teeth. When I was in the middle of doing that I heard Rhiya raise her voice a little. I slowed down so I could listen in to make sure she wasn't hurt or something.

"Are you fucking serious? ... No I will because you left and then have the nerve to ask me tha- no, I know. ... I know. ... No, I'm not doing that. ... Okay- okay I will, calm down. ... Now? I can't right now. ... Why does it have to be no- okay. Okay, I'm coming. Just text it to me okay? ... Okay, I love you too, bye mom."

I finished brushing my teeth and I heard a knock on the door.

"Tia?" I opened the door and she looked nervous.

"What's wrong?"

"Oh, nothing's wrong. Umm, I have to go, I'm sorry. I know you wanted to spend the d-"

"What did she say?" I interrupted.

Rhiya opened her mouth to say something, and then shut it. "She- she just needed me home. She just came back and wants to see me."

"Came back from where?" I knew she was lying so I definitely didn't feel bad for interrogating her. "I didn't even know she left." I said casually as I walked over to my laundry basket.

"Yeah, she... went to go see a friend."

"Oh okay. You need a ride?" She shook her head no, and I took off my shirt and tossed it in the basket, then grabbed some sweat pants out of my drawer.

"I'll call you later, okay?" She forced a smile, cause we both knew she was lying, and she knew that as well.

"Mhm." I kissed her temple and then she actually did smile, but I could tell in her eyes that she wanted to tell me the truth.

Despite my actions, it was clear in my tone that I was upset that she's lying to me.

She left the room and I was gonna call out to her, ask her to stay or what happened so I can help her, but I didn't.

Then, my mind wandered off to what she said last night. I wonder if she meant it.

She, although, probably didn't mean it like that, I've put her through too much shit for her to mean it.

That's exactly why I don't plan on telling her that I feel the same way she did last night.

Time Skip brought to you by Ms Gypsy, pls, DeeDee could neverrr. Literally... she's dead.
