Rhiya's POV

"N-No." I stuttered. "He wouldn't do that... why would?- no he wouldn't do that. He didn't." The look of confusion and hurt I had was more than evident, but I trust him...

"I... I didn't want you to find out this way. I was hoping you had already known." Her hand rested on mine in a comforting manor.

"Are you- are you sure? He's not like that." She frowned and lightly grabbed both of my hands.

"Listen to me." She whispered. "You are worth so much more. You deserve someone who can always be honest, someone who can always give you happiness." She tilted my head up, so that I was actually looking at her, then pushed my hair to the side. "You deserve someone who wants to give you the world, and would try their hardest to... he isn't that person."

I felt my eyes brim with tears, but I wouldn't let them fall. I didn't even hear his side of it. Except, it just all made so much sense... I was finally starting to understand why he kept avoiding all of this.

"I feel like I shouldn't have told you this way, I'm sorry. I didn't want to ruin your night-"

"No, no don't worry about it." I made my way to the elevator, waiting for the doors to open, while my room key was twirled between my fingers.

Mattia's POV

I stepped out of the shower. Then slipped on my boxers, black sweatpants, and wife-beater. I didn't see Rhiya, so I grabbed my phone on the charger to call her. Then I saw that she had sent me a text.

I checked the time she sent the text, which was about ten minutes ago. Why is she not back yet? I slipped on my hoodie and left the room to look for her.

I made my way to the end of the hall towards the elevators, and someone had been turning the corner, which caused them to bump into me. They were walking so fast that they fell to the ground when they hit me.

My first instinct was to tell them they should watch where the fuck they were going, but thank god I had noticed it was Ry. I helped her up and she pulled away from me.

"What did you do?" She asked. Um, breathe?

"What are you talking about-"

"Mattia what the fuck did you do?! Why did you get CS?" She cried.

"What did she say to you?-"

"That's doesn't answer my question! Why did you get community service?!"

"Rhiya, calm down pleas-"

"No." She interrupted. "Don't do that, don't say that right now. What happened?!"

"It's a long story."

"I have time. Today I have all the time in the world, what happened?" She demanded. "Where did you get this? Hmm?" She took off the piece of jewelry I had just given her less than an hour ago, and tossed it towards my chest.

"From the mall?! What did Ashlyn tell you?"

"Oh, so that's her name. Why didn't you tell me you knew her? Cause she sure as hell knew that ring too-"

"I don't know what the hell you're talking about!"

"Am I the only girl you gave that promise ring to?" She asked. "Just- just tell me the truth. What did you do to her?"
