When I was unmasked, I was surrounded by a few death eaters and Voldemort. We were outside, on the outskirts of the castle. My family was in a different cage off to the side, Riddle spoke, "Nice to see you again, Ms. Morningstar." "You got some nerve to do all this," I spat. "Just wait till I get out of here." "Threats will get you nowhere this time," Riddle said, walking around me. "You see... I beat your father, your mother, and your brother. Soon, I'll get your cousin, Harry Potter, you two have become so close the past few months. I would hate to break that up." "What do you want, Riddle?" I said. "You have something that belongs to me, I would like it back," Voldemort answered. "I know what Dumbledore gave you the necklace, give it to me." "It's funny that you think you have authority to ask me for things," I spoke. "I would rather die."

Voldemort tutted then spoke, "I was hoping I didn't have to do this, but I have no choice." A death eater brought out Remus and forced him on his knees, his hands were tied behind his back and they put a cloth around his mouth so he didn't talk. Voldemort held his wand to the back of his neck and spoke, "Strange that you would care for someone so righteous, I got word that you saw this man as a father. Be a shame if he'd drop dead." I hesitated as I struggled a bit then spoke, "Wait!" "No," Remus muffled, shaking his head. Voldemort took off his gag then he spoke, "Don't let him take it, I rather die than let him control you." "Very well," Voldemort said. "No-" "Y/n, no," Remus stopped then looked at Voldemort. "Kill me, if I die protecting a daughter I never had then it's worth it."

"So be it," Voldemort snarled. "Avada-" "No, stop!" I shouted and he did so. I looked at Remus and frowned, "I'm sorry. I'll give you what you want, just spare him." I took off my necklace and threw it on the floor in front of Voldemort. He grabbed it and I took off the soul sphere, I waved my hand over it causing his soul to go back to him. "Much better," Riddle spoke. "Leave him," I said, glaring at him. "Yes, I'll leave Lupin... although, you have always ruined everything for me, punishing me for things I didn't deserve and gave me something I never wanted, fear," Voldemort said. "For that, you have to pay the price." He went up to one of the death eaters and took off their mask and hood to reveal Draco, he had his hands tied and his mouth gag. He fell to the floor, weak making me gasp as I rushed to his side.

"Draco?" I breathed out, holding onto him after I took off his gag. The color was leaving his face and he was becoming cold. "What did you do?... What did you do!?" I snapped, clenching onto his clothes. "He's dying, poison will do that to you," Voldemort smirked. "Here's the sad part, since he's helped out the heroes so much, he has a place in the sky meaning... you can never see him again." "No," I sniffed, tears falling from my eyes. I looked at Draco, pulling him close to me as I cupped his face with one hand. "It's okay, you'll be okay," I cried softly. "I'm sorry," Draco choked out. "Don't say that," I sniffed. "Don't say goodbye, you're gonna be alright." Draco looked up at me and leaned his head against my shoulder and closed his eyes. "You were all I needed," Draco breathed out, relaxing.

"Don't leave, you'd said you'd stay," I reasoned. "Draco...?" "I love you..." Draco said finally. His body went limp and he took his last breath, his head falling on my shoulder. "No..." I cried. I held his head, holding it as I sobbed into his shoulder. "I'm so sorry," I cried. "I'm so sorry..." I pulled away to look at him and held his face with my hand, caressing his face softly. (Play song now) I looked at him blankly as I did so, not knowing what to do with him here. "Wither and decay... end this destiny," I sang gently. "Break these earthly chains and set the spirit free... Take what has been hurt, grant them no mercy. Bend and break the reigns and set the spirit free... The spirit free..." I kissed his forehead lightly before resting mine on his and squeezed my eyes shut, wanting all this to be a dream. "That's enough, get up," Riddle said.

I set Draco down against my own decision and got up. "Good, everything is set," Riddle smirked. "Send them both away." Remus grabbed Draco's arm as I put my hand on his shoulder. "Warn the others," I told Remus. "Tell them what happened... I can't stop what's coming." Remus nodded then I teleported them away before standing and spoke, "What do you need me to do, my lord?" My family shared a worried look when I said so, he spoke, "Drop the shield." I raised my hand and did so, the shield started cracking and breaking down to nothing. The battle of Hogwarts was starting.
