"I'm walking as fast as I can!" Areum shouted over the phone. Though her loud tone of voice wasn't because she was angry, but because the festival had become tightly packed and extremely loud now that it was in full swing. She could barely even hear Ji's reply through the phone with all the bells and whistles happening but with the few words she could hear, she summed up what her friend was trying to say.
"Why would Namjoon put his wallet in my purse?! I told you both I was leaving first." Areum shook her head at Namjoon's mistake, now it had her swerving through groups of people trying to find the pair.
"He said he thought it was my purse" Areum could clearly picture Ji's eyeroll over the phone along with Namjoon in the background insisting it wasn't his fault the girls got matching purses. "They're literally different colors!" Ji argued back
"Well why don't you buy him the doll he's obsessing over, and he'll just pay you back when I get to the booth-"
"For the eleventh time It's an action figure not a doll!" Namjoon shouted. Guess that meant Areum was on speaker... Oops.
"I didn't bring my money because someone is always complaining about how I don't need to bring anything with us on dates. Apparently, he'll always handle it." Ji sighed and the two friends immediately had the same thought.
"Men" they said in unison and started laughing.
"Anyways I'm sure I'm close by- AHH!" Areum shouted just as a masked face jumped in front of her causing her to drop her phone on the ground. She heard the drop and quickly tried to see where her phone had fallen but the person in the god-awful mask shoved his face in her line of sight.
"Uh excuse me" Areum timidly tried to move away from them so she could find her phone, but the person started loudly laughing like a maniac causing Areum to jump and back away. She knew this person was just in a costume, but she couldn't help the squeak that came out of her mouth when they flinched towards her, causing her to bump into someone else behind her.
A clown. Now yes, clowns were usually the most feared costumes especially when it came to children, but could you really blame Areum when at the ripe age of 6 her father had the bright idea to have a Halloween movie night, and the feature playing was IT. Clowns have been a sore spot for Areum since then. Thanks dad.
Quickly she was surrounded by multiple people in similar costumes and makeup. They weren't touching her, but they just kept getting closer and closer while making growling noises and shouting in her ears. Areum didn't know what else to do but to drop and hug her knees in a squatting position while covering her ears in hopes they'd get the idea she didn't like this at all.
Immediately most of scare actors backed off except for the clown who kept honking his little horn in Areum's face. "Okay, okay! That's enough!" Someone came shouting over but the clown didn't stop. Instead, the ugly clown grabbed at Areum's ponytail and intended to wave it around slightly to taunt the person getting mad, but the clown's fingers accidently got stuck in a tangled knot and he actually ended up pulling her hair causing her to fall over onto her knees as she let out a loud "Ow!"
