I raise my pillow above my ahead and whack Zart in the face.
"Wake up blondie, I remember my name! Get up!" I hiss hitting him over and over again with the pillow.
"What the shuck- is that you Greenie?" He says groggily, shielding his face as I whack him one more time.
I throw aside the pillow and smack his cheek lightly. "I remember my name Zart!" I practically scream jumping up and down.
"That's great, now can you stop hitting me?" He asks chuckling and rubbing his eyes lazily. "I'm tired."
I slap his cheek again. "Aren't you going to ask me what my name is?"
He sighs, but smiles lightly. "What's your name then, Greenie?"
I grin and take a deep breath. "My names Wendy."
He doesn't respond for a couple of seconds, but he makes up for the loss of speech by springing up from his hammock and hugging me.
He laughs as he squeezes me into him, "It suits you, Wendy."
I laugh and hit his chest lightly as he jokes around. "I was kind of expecting a macho name like Jorge, but I guess Wendy will have to do."
"Oh bug off, Zart!" I laugh pulling away from him. "What kind of name is that anyways? Zart." I tease.
All he does is mess up my hair, laughing loudly as I try to run away from him.
"Can you guys slim it? Some of us are trying to sleep." A Glader asks from a couple of hammocks away.
"That sounds like a personal problem." I retort, my British accent getting the best of me.
I laugh as he glares at me but turns over, covering his ears with the blanket before heading back to sleep.
"What time is it anyways?" I ask Zart. The sky was slowing getting brighter as the minutes passed by.
He looks down at his watch, "It's 5:15, the Runners should be up in ten minutes to get ready."
"They run that early in the morning?" I ask.
"Yeah, of course they do. They need as much time as they can get to find a way out of here." Zart says leaning against one of the poles.
"That must be cool, being a Runner and all." I sigh, but then burst back up at the thought. "I know what job I want for sure now."
Zart sighs. "Please don't tell me you want to be a Runner-"
"I want to be a Runner."
"For gods sake, can't you be a Builder or something?" He asks desperately.
"Nope."
"At least think about it please? Being a Runners dangerous, Wendy." He says ruffling my hair.
I swat his hand away. "That's why I want to do it, Zart. Plus, we could find a way out faster."
"You know what, I don't want to get into this, let's go eat breakfast and see if Frypan is up." He says starting to walk to Fry's hut.
I follow him, waving hello to some of the awakening Gladers as we pass their hammocks. When we reach Frypan's kitchen, I notice a line was already forming to be served food. I step in line behind Jeff, smiling at me when he sees me.
