Chapter 7 - Quit Screaming At Me
[Recap: After getting wasted at her bonfire, Wendy knocks out and wakes up next to Minho who whole heartedly embarrasses her in bed. After, she spends the day with him as a Builder, not looking forward to spending the next day with Newt, the Glader who hates her to death.]

This morning, I thankfully woke up in a hammock and not next to Minho.
I yawn loudly, making Gladers around me chuckle as my legs hang over the edge. Oddly, I slept on my stomach in a star fish position, which is not so great because I don't exactly have much room.
I turn over and rub my fingers through my hair before sitting up and dangling my legs over the side. I rub my eyes and yawn again before reaching down for my shoes and slipping them on. Today, I'd be working with Newt in gardens since the other jobs were boring and I wasn't exactly allowed to be a Runner, yet. But that wasn't stopping me. I am going to be a Runner. I know I will. I'll make Minho nominate me to become a Runner. But for now, I'll be a Track-Hoe. I guess.
I stretch when I stand up before readjusting my bra strap that had fallen off of my shoulder. As I put it in its place, I hear a wolf whistle come from my left. I snap my head to the sound and I immediately feel anger wash over me from the gesture. Princeton was smirking next to three of his friends, his hands folded across his chest as he looks me up and down. I feel my heart speed up. This was not the treatment I liked here. I was not an object, nor something for people to stand and lick their lips at. Much less get aroused by.
I stomp my way over to him, feeling my face heat up as I reach him. I shove him back immediately, catching him by surprise. His three friends widen their eyes and step back after I glare at them. Princeton was no longer smirking but instead wore a look of fear.
"Pathetic bastard." I sneer, "Don't you dare look at me like that again because I will personally rip your heart out from your chest. Never. Whistle. At. Me. Again."
But that look of fear on his face disappeared and was instead replaced with the smirk he wore seconds ago. "What are you gonna do about it, bitch?"
I clench my jaw and bring my fist back, ready to swing, but I feel arms wrap around my stomach and pull me back. I hadn't even noticed that Gladers were watching anxiously, some cheering me on. Princeton smirks as the arms pull me back, but it soon disappears as he sees Alby and Newt make their way over to him.
"Let me at him!" I scream, flailing my arms as I try to swing at him. "I'll fucking crush him! I'll reck him!"
I feel a hand cover my mouth, the other still wrapped around my stomach and pulling me back. I could feel it was Minho since my body was pressed against his, his body shape familiar to me after sleeping so close to him a night ago.
"It's already being taken care of, Wendy." he whispers in my ear, still holding a hand to my mouth as I relax into him. "Newt and Alby have already got him, shank."
He takes his hand off my mouth and unravels his arm from my stomach, but I don't move. I still press my body into his, watching as Newt and Alby talk to a once-again smirking Princeton. Minho feels my discomfort and keeps his hand on my waist, letting me lean into him for support. After Alby leads Princeton away, I pull away from Minho and face him. A look of anger and something else was scrawled across his face.
"If any of them touch you," he starts, "yell for me. Punch them. Kick them. I'm gonna shucking tell Alby that you need to defend yourself. The only reason why I pulled you back is because he would've shucking thrown you in the slammer with him if you threw a punch. I couldn't leave you in there with that piece of klunk."
