Chapter 5 - Fire in Your Eyes
[Recap: When Wendy gets fed up with Newt being an asshole, she calls him out, noticing that he can be both nice then mean at different times when he fights back. After working at the gardens and feeling mixed emotions towards a certain blonde haired boy, she is notified that a Bonfire will be taking place on her third day at the Glade.]

I did not plan on getting wasted on the third day of my arrival, but yet, I still found myself giggling obnoxiously after three drinks, Jeff deciding that three was enough for me: a small, petite, and drunk girl.
As I walk around with Jeff's arm across my shoulders, us both engaging in a stupid conversation, we smile and laugh at Gladers as they raise their glasses at me. I smile at Zart, who was currently laughing at Winston's joke and smiling a cheesy smile that looked like it was not going to fade anytime soon.
"So Jeff," I start off, smiling at the boy as we sit down at log where Minho was watching us across the bonfire, "if you could have one thing right now, what would you want?"
He thinks for a bit, before turning to me and responding, "Some damn good chocolate bar."
I howl in laughter, a cough coming out as I double over in laughter. "Shit, Jeff. I was gonna say a damn helicopter but a chocolate bar would do good, too." I smile, tucking a piece of hair behind my hair as it gets in the way of my face.
As our laughter dies down, my eyes wonder across the entire bonfire party, soon landing on the Asian across from us, his hand motioning for me to go over there. I smile and wave at him, making him scoff as I turn back to Jeff who was now conversing with Winston, smiles on both of their faces as I stand up.
"I'll be with Minho." I tell him before stumbling over to Minho whilst the boy was watching me weave my way to him.
"Please, sit." he says sarcastically as he scoots over to make room for me. His eyes roll as he sees me trip and fall onto the log, half of me on the floor while the other half of me is sprawled out across his lap. "Shuck, Wendy, you're a mess."
"A hot mess." I laugh, flipping a piece of hair over my shoulder for dramatic effect as he laughs in response. "What?" I ask, smiling at Minho as he his eyes gaze into mine. Seeming to snap out of whatever trance he was in, he clears his throat before looking back at the bonfire.
"Having fun?" he asks, pulling me onto the log next to him so I wasn't lying on the ground. "Sure look like it."
I nod my head at him as I run my hands through my hair, the bright fire in front of us beaming highly as it illuminates our faces. "I was until Jeff took away my drink, now I'm gaining focus of my surroundings and I'm becoming less drunk and more sober." I complain, rubbing my temples as the Builders and Track-Hoes bang on drums next to us. "Shut up you idiots, I can bang harder than you!"
Minho laughs at me, his face showing a hint of something I couldn't tell as he stares down at me with a smile, "Im glad he did take away your drinks because it shucking sucks being hungover and having to do work as soon as you wake up. Because tomorrow, Greenie, you're working with the Builders."
I groan at the news, making him laugh again. I look down whenever I feel my body shake with him as he laughs: I see the reason being because our shoulders and thighs were pressed to each other, the small log not having enough room for us to sit a little bit separately.
As we sit in silence, watching the Glade come alive, I feel myself looking for a certain blonde haired boy. When I fail in finding him, I nudge Minho, making him look at me in confusion.
