gentle are the arms that held him
APRIL THIRD,
TWO THOUSAND AND TWELVE4:29 in the early morning
FROM THE DEPTH OF TWILIGHT, dawn was beckoned forward, lightening the firmament with a dignified sunlight crown. Faint, luminous rays of gold filtered through a curtain-drawn window, peeking through the fabric and seeping into the room, basking the two soulmates on the bed with warmth.
A piercing alarm broke the serene silence.
Kageyama stirred under the covers, blinking away Somnus' lingering embrace. Sapphire orbs darted over to the alarm clock, a sigh slipping past his lips upon reading the time. He reached over and tapped the top, effectively ceasing the deafening sound.
Tobio looked over at the lump beside him.
"Sora," he called, shaking him gently. "It's four-thirty."
Deep grumbles escaped the said male's mouth, muscular arms tightening around the pillow he stuffed his face in, dark strands sprawled across his back. "Just ten more minutes."
"We'll be late if we stay," Kageyama informed. He didn't get any response, and he reached over, fingers tracing over bare skin. "Sora." He leant over the older male, poking him. "Sora." Poke. "Sora." Poke. "Get up."
Poke. Poke. Poke.
"Okay, okay," Sora huffed, swatting the irritating hands away. "I got it." He turned over and rose into a seated position, raising his arms over his head and stretching his limbs. A yawn broke through, one hand coming to cover his face. He glanced over at his soulmate, seeing him stand up and head over to their bathroom.
Sora's eyes lingered on his ass, a smug smirk spreading across his face at the dark purple and red marks littering his thighs.
"Shut up," he heard Tobio say.
"But I didn't say anything."
"Just shush."
Sora chuckled and stood up, following his lover to the bathroom. Tobio shuffled around, grabbing his toothbrush and proceeding to brush his teeth and start his morning routine. Sora paralleled his actions. He flipped the tap open, soaked his brush in water. Tobio added a dollop of toothpaste onto it, spinning the top close and placing it back on the shelf. The taller male pressed his chest to Tobio's back, leaning his chin on his head.
"If you get toothpaste in my hair, I'll punch you."
Amusement glinted in Sora's eyes. "So aggressive," he teased, grabbing the end and moving the bristles along his teeth.
They moved swiftly, their normal routine occurring. Changing into their clothes and packing their bags—"don't forget your books, Tobio." "I haven't." "Then why is it on the desk?" The blush on Kageyama's cheeks never failed to make Sora laugh. The jab he received only increased it—the duo headed downstairs to eat a quick breakfast before heading off to school.
