parents who actually care about you >>>
NOVEMBER SIXTH,
TWO THOUSAND AND SEVENTEEN09:23 in the morning
THE NURSERY ROOM Sora and Mikayo had designed was finally finished. They stood at the door, looking at the space with a proud smile. The room was decorated in a safari-like theme (courtesy of Mikayo's pestering), with calming beige and grey colours to create a serene atmosphere. The room featured two cosy cribs, each with plush mattresses and soft liners, to provide their babies with the best comfort money could buy. Above the dark wooden cribs were a bunch of framed pictures, which the couple had taken over the past few months, all depicting their favourite moments together. Opposite the cribs stood a dark cabinet filled with books, toys, stuffed animals, clothing and games.
Sora stroked the head of the large stuffed tiger his parents had bought for his kids.
"Beautiful, right?"
Mikayo nodded. "They're gonna love it." Her hand went to her stomach, caressing the growing bump. She looked down with fond eyes. "Mama and Papa worked very hard for you both. You better enjoy every bit of this room before you grow up, okay?"
She could imagine the light-hearted giggles that would one day swarm the room, the tiny thudding of feet on the floor, and the smiles that would brighten her day.
Sora's arm came around her waist, his hand resting close to her hip. "If they're anything like you, they'll appreciate it."
"As much as I'd love to believe that, they won't remember anything when they're old."
"Mhm." Sora smiled at her, eyes lidded. "Then, we better take lots of pictures and fill our home with our memories."
Mikayo nodded. She tilted her head up, seeing the endearing look sprout across her soon-to-be husband's face. The two had agreed to arrange a wedding after their children were born, holding onto their present just a little bit longer. "We'll paint the walls so everyone knows we existed."
"Exist," Sora corrected. He leaned down, kissing her lips softly.
Mikayo blinked in surprise.
Huh.
She didn't think much of her word choice, not when Sora's lips tasted like pure love. They couldn't hug properly, what with her stomach being huge as fuck, but the hugs from behind and the side made up for it. Just feeling Sora's warmth was more than enough for her. His chest falling and rising, his breaths tickling her skin. As long as he was beside her, Mikayo was fine.
Eyes shut, the two kept their lips together, moving slowly against each other. There was no heat behind their touch, just irrevocable sensual comfort. Their kiss grew slower, moving to the rhythm of their hearts beating as one. A deep hum emanated from their chests, reverberating between each breath. It echoed through the empty nursery. All that could be heard were soft kisses and sighs, nothing else. For a while, all was calm.
