i might kill my ex; not the best idea
MARCH TWENTY FIRST,
TWO THOUSAND AND SIXTEEN13:23 in the afternoon
SPRING ARRIVED, and its beauty was unparalleled. Every day brought fresh flowers in abundance, from the first light of dawn to the last sunset. The air was crisp, and fresh and clean, with not a hint of a breeze to be found. Birds sang their harmonic songs atop the cherry blossoms that were beginning to bloom in their profusion. The sounds brought a sense of wonder to the world, filling it with all sorts of vivid colours and enjoyment.
Sora strolled into a cafe located a few blocks away from his office, footsteps guiding him to the one place he could almost call home.
"Sorry I'm late," he apologised, walking up to his companion.
Mikayo brightened up as she looked up at him. Her eyes took in his appearance; with a new season rising, Sora decided to get a haircut. His hair was shorter, healthier, trimmed at the bottom and layered at the front. It defined his features spectacularly, making his already handsome face appear even more attractive. The sight made Mikayo's heart flutter pleasantly in her chest, causing a smile to spread across her face.
"It's fine," she reassured. "Work?"
"Yeah," Sora answered as he shrugged off his coat. He laid it against the back of his chair and took a seat in front of Mikayo. "It's been hectic. We've got a new promotion coming up, and I had to make sure everything was smooth-sailing." Mikayo nodded her head, soft understanding washing across her face.
She watched Sora pick up the menu on the table, his fingers dancing over the edges as he scanned the content. His lips parted, and he wondered easily, "Did you get anything?"
"Not yet." Mikayo reached over, grabbing the other menu and flipping it open. She traced the words, peering down as she contemplated what to get. "I was waiting for you to arrive."
"How kind," Sora teased.
Mikayo winked. "I know."
A waiter approached them, all saunter and confidence, and asked if they would like anything to drink. With no hesitation on his part, Sora ordered a black coffee for himself while Mikayo requested a cup of green tea.
"Is that all?" the waiter questioned, jotting down their orders in his notebook. Sora turned to look at Mikayo inquiringly.
"Do you want to share something? A cheesecake, perhaps?"
"That sounds lovely."
He smiled. Sora returned his attention to the waiter. "What would you recommend?"
The waiter hummed, tapping his pen against the paper. "I'd say the blueberry cheesecake has to be our best seller right now. It's sweet but not overly so. Just the right amount."
