"Salem, if I may ask, why did you let him go? He isn't ready yet." Cinder asked seriously.

"The transformation is painful, and will continue to take place while he is out in the field. In your case, it's different." She replied sternly.

"How so?" She asked again.

"Your… upgrades, involve combining Grimm and human tissue. His transformation involves mixing Grimm and human DNA in order to prolong his life, and allow his aura to protect even his Grimm parts, while also giving him the reflexes of the most agile and intelligent Grimm." She replied seriously.

"I understand now. What's the next move?" She asked again.

"Can you stop with all the questions, you're driving me insane at the moment. Continue your training. Show no weakness, and then we will talk further." She replied nonchalantly.

"Yes, Master."

Back at you:

You have found four footprints in a dirt road, and immediately caught the scent of who it is…

"Ruby…" You muttered, leaping into the air and transforming into a Beowolf.

Little known to you, two birds are watching you from the trees, a fair distance away. They looked at each other before flying overhead, easily overtaking you, who recognized the one.
You paid no mind to them, and continued further down the neverending road.

Meanwhile:

Ruby and the others have stopped by a small, cozy town with a train station and a small landing bay, where they came across a familiar statue.

"In loving memory of Pyrrha Nikos, who fell with Beacon, always to be remembered."

"She was brave, wasn't she?" A woman with red hair asked with guilt in her voice.

"Yeah. She was." Jaune replied softly.

"I remember when she was young, all she wanted to do was become a huntress, and change the world for good." She replied seriously.

"That sure does sound like her." Ruby replied, still upset about you, and after seeing this it got her emotional again, but she managed to control it, swallowing her tears.

They went to the train station to book a ticket to Atlas, and then booked in at the inn, only for a knock at the door to disrupt them.

"Uncle Qrow!?" Ruby asked seriously.

"I hope you don't mind, I'll be accompanying you from here on-"

"But we don't need your protection anymore, we'll just be on this train going straight to Atlas." Ruby replied, cutting his sentence short.

"No, Ruby! You don't understand. I get the feeling that Salem sent another one of her followers after you!" Qrow replied seriously.

"What makes you say that?" Yang asked seriously.

"I saw it. A person in a dark cloak, and they transformed into a Grimm. The person seems to be tracking you and your friends." Qrow replied seriously.

"Fine then, just be sure to book your ticket for tomorrow." Ruby said anxiously.

"Fine." Qrow replied seriously.

The next morning, just before dawn, Ruby got up and went for a quick walk with Yang. As they walked around and noticed a beowolf looking at them from the trees.

"Ruby, let's get our weapons, the train is arriving in half an hour." Yang said nervously.

"Right." She replied, and when the girls looked back at the creature, a cloaked figure is standing in its place.
