George is nervous for his first day at school in America, that much is obvious.

As he struggles to find an outfit, contemplating wearing a feminine outfit or a masculine one, he hears his front door close. His father is gone, so George decides to wear a baby blue oversized shirt and a white pleaded skirt. Throwing on a matching pair of running shoes, George looks at his reflection.

He looks himself up and down, hoping people won't find him too weird. He's never been able to express himself and wearing feminine clothes such as skirts or crop tops has always inspired him. He knows that his father would never approve of this, though, so he only wears these clothes whenever he isn't around. Besides, the thrill of hiding it from him excites George for some unknown reason.

George runs his hands through his hair and takes a deep breath. It's now or never, George, embrace yourself, he tries to reassure himself. It seems to work at least a little bit, as he soon finds himself on his front porch with his backpack lazily slung across his shoulder. His eyes widen and a smile reaches his face as he sees Karl waiting for him next door.

When Karl notices George walking over, he smiles and waves to him. "George, you look great! Happy first day of school."

George smiles even wider and thanks the male, getting into his car. George has never had his license due to his colorblindness and lack of care for even wanting to learn.

Karl and George make small chatter as they drive to school, the trip hardly taking ten minutes. George is nervous, which he knows is obvious to everyone. Leading George towards the guidance counselor's office, Karl gets him his schedule. After looking it over, the two walk outside and Karl points to each of the buildings he'll be in.

It's a beautiful day out, but George can't help but feel exhausted from the overbearing heat of the Florida sun. It's much different than England, and even though he's been here for weeks, it's still new.

As George stands listening to Karl's explanation of his classes and everything, he notices that people are looking at him in judging manners. He can't help but notice some snickering between friends and harsh gazes that last moments too long. It makes him insecure, vulnerable, and he can't help but pick at the skin on his fingers anxiously.

"Oh, George, let me introduce you to a couple of my best friends," Karl says, turning towards a couple approaching figures. "Dream, Sapnap!" He yells, and George sees a tall blonde look up as well as his slightly shorter friend.

George takes a quick look at the blonde, noticing that he is the same person he saw at cheer practice yesterday. He feels his heart stop in that moment, a slight smile plastered on the blonde boy's face. George finds him attractive, no, hot almost, but shakes these thoughts out of his head. As a closeted gay man, he can't fathom the idea of falling for a straight guy. He knows that this boy is the captain of the football team, and things don't get much straighter than that.

"I'd like you guys to meet George, he's my friend and neighbor, it's his first day," Karl says enthusiastically as George is still looking down and messing with his fingers. He feels even more anxious in front of two boys he doesn't know, but finds himself wanting to impress them.

"It's nice to meet you George, I'm Dream," a deep voice says, coming from in front of George and snapping his attention to the blonde boy who has his hand out in front of him, clearly looking for a handshake. George smiles and takes it, ignoring the warm and comforting feeling of his hand.

"It's nice to meet you too," he smiles as Dream releases his grip, turning away quickly. Dream leaves almost as abruptly as he arrived, leaving George to look at Sapnap, who is smiling.
