tw// brief mention of death
"You know, I realized that we don't really know much about each other," George says, taking a drink of the smoothie Dream had made him.
After their heated make out session, the two of them acted like nothing happened and decided to continue working for the next few hours. Then George wanted a smoothie, so Dream gathered ingredients and made some, with George calling him a simp multiple times.
Now the two are back in his room, George sitting on the bed and Dream sitting in his desk chair.
"I mean, I think I know a decent amount about you," Dream trails on, biting into a potato chip.
"Oh really? What's my favorite animal?" George crosses his arms.
"Um, a lion?" Dream questions.
George starts quietly laughing. "A lion? Where the hell did you come up with that from?"
"Okay maybe we don't really know much about each other."
"No shit."
"Well what do you wanna know?" Dream moves to sit next to George on the bed, his legs crossed. George furrows his brows to show that he's thinking.
"Just tell me about yourself. Hobbies, siblings, whatever," George puts his head in his hands and rests his elbows on his knees.
"Well, obviously you know I love football. As for siblings, I don't have any. My parents are hardly home as well so it's like I'm all alone here," Dream laughs slightly, but George just looks at him with a sad expression of understanding.
"I understand, I don't have any siblings either and my father usually doesn't come home until late," George says, remembering what had happened the last time he'd seen his father.
"What about your mom?" Dream asks. George's face turns sour out of impulse. "Oh, you don't have to tell me anything you're not comfortable with."
"No it's okay," George smiles to try to make Dream feel better about pretty much striking a land mine. "My mum died a couple of years ago when I was sixteen."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you want to talk about it?" Dream asks. George is surprised by Dream's genuine concern for him, but he shakes his head. He's not ready to admit what happened out loud, because that means he has to accept it. Dream nods and changes topic. His eyes travel along George's face until he sees a couple light scratches near his cheek and jaw. Putting his hand on them, he notices George flinch. "What happened to your cheek?"
"Cat scratches," George says, smiling. Dream is a little bit skeptical, they don't look like cat scratches after all, but he doesn't want to pry because maybe it's a touchy subject.
"You have a cat?" Dream asks, his eyes widening in excitement. George simply nods back at him. "I have one too, her name is Patches. Stay here, I'll find her."
Dream quickly exits the room in search of his cat. George takes another look around his bedroom, smiling at the sight of all the football trophies and team pictures. It's refreshing to see someone so passionate about something, and even makes George wish he could show his love for cheerleading in his room. Unfortunately, though, his father would see and force him to quit the team.
Minutes later, Dream returns with a small cat in his arms, smiling, and George launches himself off of the bed to pet Patches.
"She's so cute," George smiles, petting the cat behind her ears.
"Just like you," Dream smirks as he watches the brunette in awe. He watches as George's eyes light up petting the cat.
"Oh shut up," George says yet again, rolling his eyes playfully. "I think Patches and Cat would get along well."
