tw// underage drinking, mention of abuse (briefly)
"George!" Dream yells as George starts walking out of the last class, ahead of him. "What did I say about waiting for me?"
"Sorry, forgot," George shrugs and Dream just rolls his eyes. The two walk to Dream's Jeep and hop inside of it, waiting for the AC to cool it down. Although it's the beginning of October already, Florida is still warm. "Why do you need my help anyways?"
"Because I can't set the whole thing up myself, genius," Dream says sarcastically, pulling out of the parking lot.
"Right, well you could've just set coolers down on your floor and called it a day," George laughs while trying to sound as least sarcastic as possible. Dream laughs at the failed attempt.
"What kind of host would I be then? I can't leave my guests hanging," Dream says with pride as he drives to his house.
After about ten minutes of bickering over the radio, Dream and George arrive at his house. George is once again taken aback by the beautiful scene that just gets even more amazing everyday.
"So why are you throwing a party anyways?" George asks as he removes his shoes and follow Dream into the kitchen.
"Because there's no school Thursday," Dream says as if it's the most obvious fact in the world.
"Yes but why you?" George reiterates, grabbing a cooler and dragging it to the living room with the blonde behind him.
"Because my parents are away on a trip this week and I have nothing better to do," Dream shrugs as him and George set things up for the party. They put away anything extremely valuable or breakable.
"Oh yeah, whenever I've been here they've never been here," George thinks to himself for a moment. "Doesn't it gets lonely?"
Dream shrugs and offers a small smile. "Yeah, but I'm used to it. I see them probably once a month so it's not a big deal to me and I feel less shitty about throwing parties in their house because they're not present in my life."
Dream doesn't know why he's opening up to George so much. He's only known him since the start of the school year, so why does he feel like he can trust him with anything? He doesn't like this. It makes him feel weak.
"Well I'm sorry about that. If it makes you feel any better, at least you're independent and have your life well put together," George offers a smile back.
"Maybe," Dream shrugs. "It doesn't feel like I have my life put together though."
"Do you want to talk about it?" George offers. He wants to be able to comfort Dream like he comforted him.
"You'll have to get me drunk before I open up about anything," Dream jokes.
"So let's drink then," George says. Dream raises an eyebrow, now intrigued by the brunette's sudden interest in his life. "After we finish setting up of course."
Dream nods and the two of them resume putting up decorations and coolers. Dream makes sure he has enough alcohol, and the two boys start mixing them to start making some drinks. There's punch and vodka, soda mixed with various alcoholic beverages, and many others. They check to make sure there's enough beer for at least a hundred people, sighing in relief when there is.
The two of them finish setting up and sit on the couch, tired after all of the work. Dream is just lucky he hadn't had football practice that day or he'd be even more exhausted.
Dream keeps his promise and gets alcohol, the two of them drinking away their problems.
"By the way, are you sure you're okay with coming to the party?" Dream asks suddenly while George had started drinking.
