The next Monday approaches too quickly, and has Dream on edge and worried. The events of Friday still cloud his mind as he thinks about how he'll have to see George today. He was drunk and made a huge mistake, one he's already beginning to regret even if he doesn't admit it. He wonders what it'll be like at school. Will they talk like normal? Will George ignore him? Dream has no clue what's going to happen. Yet still, he sucks up his pride and goes to school.
George doesn't show up that day.
The atmosphere during lunch is tense, to say the least. Everyone purposefully avoids talking about the party, not wanting to overstep or anything. That is, until a very confused Alex who clearly hadn't gotten the memo decides to speak up.
"Where is George?" Alex asks, Karl and Sapnap snapping their attention to the short male. "What?"
Sapnap gives Alex the 'not now' look and he drops it, the table remaining that tense for the rest of lunch. Dream wonders if George is actually there and just skipped lunch out of embarrassment or anger.
In his next class, though, there is still no sign of George. Dream looks around everywhere in the classroom but doesn't see the brunette. Sapnap notices this and desperately wants to talk to Dream, but figures now isn't the time. The last football game is this week and he can't have his friend worried about a boy. He figures Dream will be alright by then.
Sapnap decides that if Dream is still acting weird and upset about it tomorrow, he'll talk to the blonde then. It's his way of stalling and hoping things fix themselves, but knowing his best friend, they won't.

By the next day, things don't solve themselves. Dream shows up to school running on two hours of sleep, if napping even counts, with messy hair and an even messier outfit.
Dream eagerly awaits George's return to school, figuring that the boy was just sick yesterday or something. He meets the group at the fountain and is surprised when George doesn't show up.
Later on he goes to lunch with the intention of seeing George, whether it be at their table or somewhere else in the cafeteria, but is discouraged to see that he is absent once again. He wonders if he should text the brunette, but decides against it. All of the table's conversation is a blur to Dream except for the parts about him or George.
"I hope he's alright, I asked him if he needed a ride today but got no answer," Karl says during lunch, talking about George.
"I'm sure he's fine," Sapnap tries to reassure not only Karl, but himself as well as Dream. He has to admit that he's a little concerned for his friend, even if they aren't the closest.
George doesn't show up to class again, and Dream is borderline losing his mind. If something happened to George because of him he wouldn't be able to forgive himself. Maybe, though, the brunette is just sick or something.
After both school and football practice end, Sapnap brings Dream aside to talk to him.
"Okay, I can't take this anymore Dream," Sapnap sits next to him on a bench behind the school. "What the fuck happened at the party? What the hell were you thinking?"
Dream is taken aback by his friend's straightforwardness, but can't find it in himself to be angry at Sapnap. "I don't know."
"Don't play dumb with me," Sapnap crosses his arms.
"Listen, we talked about this. I don't like George, he just happened to see me with a girl at the party and got all mad," Dream shrugs and looks around, trying to focus on anything but the conversation. It's the first time he has talked about it.
