tw// slight PTSD due to previous events such as abuse/suicide attempt, slight smut

After moments of rolling around in bed trying to make himself more comfortable to fall back asleep, Dream eventually gives up and pulls himself into a sitting position. His head hurts after last night, and what had happened comes rushing into his head.

Dream looks to the side, wondering why the bed feels so empty, then sees George laying on the ground with a pillow and blanket. He looks so peaceful sleeping, but how can the floor be peaceful? Why didn't George just sleep on the bed?

Remembering last night's events, Dream feels a ping of guilt in his heart. There were two separate occasions in which George looked upset and hurt, but the blonde had done nothing about it. If he were sober he would've kept pushing and trying to get George to tell him the truth, comforting him in case anything happened. Did anything happen?

He thinks back to the party, most of which he had spent going around and talking to people. He even had a conversation with Fundy in which the ginger boy had wanted advice with his college essay. It confused Dream why he wanted his help and not someone smarter with better writing skills, but he helped him nonetheless.

Now, as a result of it being Halloween, the group is going to a haunted house. Dream's friend group as well as Fundy's are meeting up at one of Florida's largest, and scariest, haunted houses. Dream isn't too nervous for this, he's excited to be around George. He wonders if the brunette would get scared and cling to him. Just the thought of that makes him happy.

Suddenly, Dream hears shuffling coming from beside him on the ground, and he looks down to see George waking up. The brunette yawns and looks around before making eye contact with Dream.

"Good morning," Dream says, moving to the end of the bed on his stomach and looking down at George with a smile.

"Good morning," George yawns and tries to return the smile.

"How are you feeling?" Dream asks quietly as to not give George a headache if he doesn't already have one.

"Tired," George pouts, laughing and collapsing back onto the ground.

Dream opens his arms and motions for George to come up onto the bed with him. The blonde moves over as George sluggishly climbs into bed next to him, immediately pulling the warm covers over him and burying himself in them. Dream smiles at this, finding the smaller male cute as he puts his arms around him, leaning his head onto George's shoulder.

"What time are we going to the haunted house?" George whispers, leaning into Dream's touch. Although part of him wants to be upset about last night, he knows it's probably just a misunderstanding and overthinking on his part.

"Around 6 p.m," Dream replies, tightening his grip around the brunette. "About last night, I'm sorry if I did anything to upset you. You seemed upset and I didn't want to make anything worse."

"It's fine," George says kindly, trying his best to convince himself that is the case.

"No, it's not fine," Dream says quietly, his voice laced with pain. "I don't want you to feel like you can't tell me when something is bothering you. I want to be here for you George."

George stays silent for a moment, wondering what to say, until he shifts and turns himself around in Dream's arms to face him. George smiles at their closeness and buries his face into Dream's chest.

"It's fine, really, I was just overthinking things last night that's all," George smiles into Dream's shirt, taking in his scent and warmth.

"Well if there's anything you need to tell me or need someone to confide in, please talk to me. I don't want to see you in pain anymore George," Dream says, planting a kiss on the boy's forehead.
