tw// slight mention of eating disorder

Monday is nothing like either of the boys would have expected. Their group had talked about homecoming and everything that happened. Sapnap, Alex, and Karl didn't end up getting kicked out, but they left to get drunk at Sapnap's house. They had all called and texted Dream and George wondering where they were, but didn't get a response. They questioned it at lunch on Monday, but neither boy gave an answer.

Dream was being a little distant from George, which surprised the brunette. As much as George had tried to start a conversation with the blonde, Dream would always respond dryly or not at all. It was frustrating, to say the least.

After walking around after school on Tuesday, clearing his thoughts, Dream sits down at a table at a pavilion, head in his hands.

He's scared of facing his feelings, the ones he's been trying so hard to ignore. Seeing George everyday doesn't help him, and only makes him want to push him away more. He knows he shouldn't do this, but keeps trying to push George away as to save himself from eventual heartbreak he knows will come.

George should know how he feels, and Dream doesn't like that. Dream just wants to go back to how things were, simple. Back when there weren't feelings involved. Back when Dream merely wanted to make George fall for him then leave.

Now Dream has achieved that. He's gotten George to fall for him. Now what? Now they've both caught feelings.

Before he even realizes, Sapnap heaves himself into the seat next to Dream. "What's up man? You've been kind of quiet today."

"What do you mean?" Dream asks, acting clueless.

"You know what I mean. What's wrong? Did something happen at homecoming?" Sapnap questions, wording things carefully as to not upset the blonde.

"Nothing happened," he lies again.

"Dream please talk to me," Sapnap pleads, upset that his best friend isn't confiding in him.

"Alright fine," Dream inhales and exhales deeply. "Well while you, Karl, and Alex were getting drunk at homecoming, George and I decided to leave and went to my house. Pretty sure you could guess what happened next and why we ignored you... But anyways, George confessed his feelings for me."

Sapnap stays silent for a moment, taking in all of the information. "Isn't that a good thing?"

"No, Sapnap, I don't want a relationship," Dream says while sounding frustrated. He puts his head in his hands and sighs.

"Dream, if you like him isn't that all that matters? He's not going to hurt you like Paige did," Sapnap says quietly but harshly, wanting Dream to believe him so much. Although, the sound of his ex's name has Dream significantly more on edge now.

"No Sapnap! You don't get it," Dream tugs on his hair. "I don't like George. I liked the sex, the excitement I got whenever I was with him. And I feel like shit for it!" He lies to his friend about his feelings. That's the right thing to do, isn't it?

Sapnap's eyes widen in confusion and pity. "Dream, that's not true."

"It is Sapnap! You don't know my feelings. You only see the way I look at people," Dream desperately tries convincing the both of them that he doesn't have feelings for George. "As much as I want to be with George and feel the same way he feels about me, I can't. I can't be with him."

"Dream, you don't have to close yourself off," Sapnap says.

"I don't want to lead him on."

"Then talk to him."
