Dream and George make their way to school with much bickering and overthinking during the car ride. Relief washes over both of them as their group seems to light up at the sight of George.
"George! You're back again!" Karl says, running over and throwing himself at George into a hug before the two even make their way to the fountain.
"I'm sorry for going MIA, some stuff has been going on with my personal life," George says to not only Karl but the whole group.
"That's okay, we're all here to talk if you need to," Karl smiles as he sits down, George doing the same.
"Do we have cool George back?" Alex jokes, hitting the brunette on the shoulder.
"What the hell? Am I not always cool?" George feigns hurt and pretends to cry, warranting another punch from Alex.
"Of course not," Alex jokes.
The group hangs out until the bell rings, splitting off and going their separate ways once it does. George spends class time bombarded with questions from Karl and Alex, mostly leaving them with vague answers that don't explain everything. George would feel bad for this if he wasn't planning on telling them the truth at some point, he just needs time.
Lunchtime is spent the same way, with friendly banter thrown in the mix. Skeppy and Bad are excited to see George back at school, and they fill him in on everything that's been happening. It's refreshing for George to be back and around such a positive atmosphere. Not only have his friends been nothing but nice, but also other people as well as his cheer friends. Perhaps it was his overthinking clouding his thoughts after all.
The last period rolls around and is spent quietly with the class mostly just taking notes.
"I'm so behind in my classes," George complains, his voice a mere whisper as to not get caught by the teacher.
"I tried to get you the notes, sorry you decided not to read them," Dream shrugs while taking notes, not looking up at the brunette.
"Well your handwriting is nearly illegible anyway so," George shrugs as well, slumping down in his chair.
"Take that back," Dream looks up at him with a faked hurt expression.
"I'm serious, you should fix that," George whispers, stifling a laugh.
"Never, you're just jealous."
The two are cut off by the teacher yelling 'shhh' to whoever was talking, them of course, and they spend the rest of class quietly taking notes. As soon as it is over, though, the two walk with Sapnap to their cars, discussing the bowling meet up later with Fundy and his friends. Apparently Sapnap is also bringing Karl, which Dream has no problem with.
George and Dream drive home, both fighting over who gets the aux cord, with Dream just barely being able to wrestle it from George's grip. They compromise and listen to Arctic Monkeys on the way home.
"Tomorrow we're going shopping, so don't make any plans after school," Dream says as the two chill on the couch watching reality TV.
"For what?" George asks, drinking a protein shake Dream got him from a gas station on their way home.
"Well if you're going to be staying here you'll need new clothes," Dream says as if it was an obvious fact.
"I didn't bring any money with me though," George looks down, upset at his incapability of stealing his father's wallet. Instead, he opted for drugs and alcohol unfortunately.
"That's okay, I'll pay," Dream says nonchalantly.
"No, I don't want you to have to pay for me," George responds, waving his arms in front of him as to say 'no' with them.
