The next few days go by normally and Dream is even at ease most of the time. He's gotten more comfortable around George and can even say that they're becoming friends, although Dream makes it a goal to flirt mindlessly with the brunette.
Now is Thursday, tomorrow being the next football game which is two weeks before the homecoming game.
"You guys are coming to my party right?" Alex asks the group at the lunch table. This time he's hosting the party, as Sapnap's parents will be home this weekend. Alex isn't on the football team, but most people know his name and adore him for his parties and approachable personality.
"Sure, why not," Dream shrugs, but on the inside he's practically going insane. Another chance to see George in such an intimate manner is one he wants to take. After all, he needs the shorter male to fall for him somehow.
"Great, it's settled, you're all coming," Alex grins, then Karl drops his head on the lunch table.
"Sorry Q, I can't come. My parents want me to tutor my sister so I can't even come to the game on Friday," Karl says in a disappointing tone. George's attention snaps to him. He's nervous, now, as Karl is his designated ride to places. Karl looks at him with a guilty expression. "You can find a ride, George, right?"
"I can sit this one out," George starts to say, being stopped by a voice from across the table.
"I'll pick you up," Dream says quickly with a smile. "If you want to, of course. You just had so much fun last time, I figured you'd want to go again."
The two exchange a challenging glance, George's eyes narrowing before he plants an obviously fake smile on his mouth. "Of course I would."
"It's settled then," Alex says, "This party is gonna be awesome!"
Sapnap raises an eyebrow at Dream who refuses to look back at him, his gaze focusing on George, who is now scrolling through his phone as if their exchange hadn't just happened. Dream is excited, now, to be able to mess with George and see him flustered. It excites him whenever he flirts with him and gets a reaction out of the shorter male.
As the bell rings, Dream makes his way to his last class with Sapnap and George.
Immediately upon entering the classroom, Dream sees a note by George's seat. He wonders what the note says, curious as to whether it's good or bad.
The three of them take their seats and George cautiously opens the note, reading its contents. Before Dream can steal a glance at the paper, George crumples it up and shoves it into his book bag, clearly upset over whatever was written on it.
Dream wants to ask about it but the teacher starts his lecture, with everyone falling into silence to pay attention.
Near the end of class, the professor decides to announce a new project coming up. "So for the midterm project, I am going to put everyone in groups of two and you will be creating a code of your choice that you will present to the class. I will give everyone a packet that explains everything more, but for now let me put you in groups."
The groups are hardly chosen at random. The teacher just pairs people that are sitting next to each other, and because Dream is sitting next to George on the end of the classroom, they are paired together. Sapnap is paired with the boy sitting next to him named Luke.
As Dream looks through the packet, he complains to George. "This looks so stupid, what are we supposed to code?"
"We can code a game," George says, shrugging. He's not too sure what to do either.
"You're smart, do it for us," Dream jokes, only being half serious about it. If George accepts, though, he wouldn't be against letting the brunette do the whole project.
