As I wake up, the light coming through the curtains isn't very bright. That's how I know it's very early in the morning. It should be around 6 or 7 a.m. I look around for my phone but don't see it in sight. Maybe the hospital has it, along with my clothes.
I look over at Luke who is still sound asleep, I notice Mary and Amber are gone but all the boys are still here. They are all in different positions than last night. I guess they all woke up through out the night.
I really hope I can go home today and they can all get some actual sleep. I feel so bad for them. Having to stay here for 3 months watching me sleep and having to watch me go through the freak show that is my brain? I wouldn't want to do it.
I wonder why they did it. Wait, did they realize all the stuff I did? Do they know we have met before? Have I met Mary, Amber, Nina, and Shawn before? How is Mrs. Rose doing? Gosh I have so many questions!
I notice Luke moving his muscles beside me, he's not switching positions so he looks very uncomfortable.
I really want everyone to get actual sleep. This is ridiculous that they are here, having to sleep in chairs instead of their rightful beds because of me.
Suddenly I need to go to the bathroom. As I get up, Luke moves again. I didn't want to wake him up...but I have to pee! He stops moving for a little bit so I quickly hop of the bed, gracefully walking like a ballerina so I can be more quiet.
At least it worked. I went to the bathroom but when I came out, Jonah, Jake, and Jasper were all awake and out in the hall. They all had messy hair and blank, tired expressions. I bet their morning voices are epic.
Pft. Of course they are. These men are perfect. I look over at Luke, who is the only one still asleep I think, In that moment I notice Mary, Amber and Nina walking up to the other 3 boys who are standing in the hall.
I get back on the bed, laying down, just staring at Luke's hair, he has his face hidden at an angle so I can't see him. He might look peaceful while he's sleeping but their is no telling what he dreams about. They all have had a rough life. I don't even know them that well and I can tell they have had some tough shit to go through. But at least they had each other.
With some help of their guardian angel of a father. Jackson seems quite smart, powerful, and very responsible. Maybe he will be what they need. But nobody's perfect. I have a feeling I'm gonna know more about the whole Mayfield family in the next couple of weeks, months, or even years possibly.
I see Jake shift his stance from the corner of my eye and quickly look over to see Mary, Amber, Jonah, Jake, Jasper, Nina, Shawn, and Jack in a circle...staring at me? I give them a creeped out look and they all laugh and smile awkwardly.
I get up slowly, realizing the adrenaline from the last couple days dissapear. My bones crack and pop, making me wince in pain. I feel an hand on my arm that was supporting me on the bed. I look over and see Luke's tired eyes. They were kinda dull but still dreamy.
He then slowly moves his head back down to the surface of the bed, closing his eyes. I gently remove his hand and get off the hospital bed and go out into the hall.
The lights blinded me so I accidentally ran into Mary and Jonah, "Sorry guys. I feel like one of those blind mice from the Nutcracker." I said laughing. Everyone else just smiled and chuckled lightly.
Once my vision focuses, I see Jack standing right in front of me, "Jesus! Warn me before you do that!" I said stepping back after Jack appears from a couple feet away from me. Why didn't he just walk a couple of feet?
"Was it really necessary to go from standing feet away to appearing right in front of a temporary blind person?" Jake said making a joking face while Jack gave me an apologetic look.
