As I slowly turn around, I see Lewis, with a creepy smile pointed towards Mary. "Get the hell out. I'm trying to calm her down and you're not fucking helping." I say with a bit of anger in my voice but I say it low enough Mary won't get scared. I don't think she likes loud noises so I'm gonna make this as easy as possible for her and somehow get Lewis to go the fuck away.
"I just want to watch. What are you gonna do when you get to her? I know what I would do..." Lewis says with a creepy laugh. As I shove him out of my room and lock the door, he bangs on it, cursing at me and Mary. As I stand there and try to control my anger from Lewis, I see Mary looking even more scared than before. "Mary, it's okay. I'm not gonna let him near you. You're safe with me." Suddenly she waves her hand and speaks, "I need you." She says it so quiet, I could barley hear her over Lewis yelling.
As I walk a bit faster towards her, I make sure not to go to fast. When I reach her, she immediately wraps her arms around my neck and also wraps her legs around my waist. I had no idea what happened until she buried her head in my shoulder. As I wrap my arms around her back, I start to rub in circles. We don't speak. We don't move. We just enjoy eachother. A couple minutes pass, and Lewis has stopped banging on my door.
When Mary let's go of me, I gently place her on the floor and turn to the door, making sure she is behind me before I get closer to it. When I open it, no one's there and the front door is wide open. As I walk out and make my way to close the front door, I make sure to look around in case someone came in or Lewis is just messing with me.
When I find no evidence of anyone being inside the house, I lock the door and head back to Mary upstairs. When she sees me, she runs and jumps back in my embrace.
This time I do speak, "Mary, what's wrong?" As she moves to where she's looking straight in my eyes, she finally speaks. "My dad said the last time he saw my mom, he would kill us both." Well atleast her speech has improved a little. She still has trouble pronouncing them but atleast she figured out how to speak more clearly.
As I think over her situation, it doesn't make much sense to me. "Why would he kill you both? Neither of you did anything to him." Mary just shrugs.
As I try to figure everything out, there's a knock on the door and Jake's voice is the first thing we hear. "Hey, you guys okay? You're door is pretty fucked up. You should proabaly get that fixed." I can hear a laugh coming from the other side of the door. His stupidity makes me laugh as well.
"He's such an idiot." I say to Mary as she smiles a little. Suddenly Jake speaks again as I put Mary down on the floor again. "Oh, hey, I'm fixing to make dinner, you guys should come down and help, it's been a while since you've helped me cook." As I look back at Mary, I respond to Jake. "Okay, we'll be down there, but have the rest of them start on it." I say with a smile as I don't take my eyes off of Mary.
She gets a smile on her face when I keep staring at her. "Sorry, I probably look like a creep." That makes her laugh. I love her laugh. "You're laugh is so unique." I say as she covers her face and moves her fingers so she can still see me. She's blushing.
As I bite my lip, I smile as I walk over and grab the pen and paper from her hands. I write down what I want to say and give her a bright smile as I hand her the paper and pen. When she reads it her face goes to stone and her eyes go wide with shock. It's hilarious.
She always has the best facial expressions when she reacts to something. We all have funny expressions but hers are the best.
When she looks back up at me, I can't help but smile. She looks down for a moment trying to contain her smile before she looks back up. When she looks in my eyes again, all I can see is how beautiful her eyes are. All of her is beautiful. She's perfect to me.
