Author: I'm going to try and mix up the POVs cause it just feels a little boring so if it gets confusing, just ask a question in the comments and I will do my best to explain what's going on.✌️
"You killed me, Darling. Why did you kill your mother, Jacob?" As Jake opens his eyes, he notices his mother standing in front of him in a pitch black room. It looked like a place only ghosts would be. Am I...Dead? Where am I? Who brought me here? Jake thought to himself.
"I will answer your questions. First, you answer mine." Jane says, bending down while Jake appears in ropes and chains around him with him sitting in a chair. His mom doesn't seem real to him. Like she's just his imagination. It wouldn't be the first time he saw her around town, acting like any other person on the street, except she was always staring at him and then she would dissapear when a passerby walked in front of her. The look on her face always haunted Jake. He still has nightmares of the day he found her. Rotting on the cold floor of their childhood home.
The memories of her ignoring him and then breaking plates or throwing whatever was in her hand at the time flashes through his mind. He forgot about the day Lizzy died, Lewis had hung Jane's body right in front of the boys a few hours before Lizzy died. She was just hanging from the rafters. Swaying side to side slowly.
Even though the memories scare him, he doesn't have one spark of emotion on his face. It's just like when he was in the chamber, letting his powers slowly slip away.
Jane always snapped her fingers when she wanted to get Jake's attention. This time she hit him. Square in the Jaw. Blood flowing from his mouth after. He didn't feel the pain but he could taste the blood from his gums.
She continued to hit and slap him until blood was pouring from his mouth and nose. Mom always knew how to pack a punch with force. Lewis taught her how to fight just so she could fight him. But he never taught her enough to defeat him. So he always won the fight. He did the same with us. That's how he kept us in the basement for so long. Jake thought, feeling really dissapointed he didn't realize sooner his step dad was using them for his own entertainment. To watch them make fools of themselves.
Suddenly built up rage and hostility towards both of Jake's parents took over. It fueled his thoughts of how he would get out of his own head, soon he realized, none of this was real. His mother was a figure of his imagination. He remembered the last place he was. With Amber and the others in the diner. Although this had never happened to him before. He knew it had to do with the weeks to come. Grieving the death of his mom, Lizzy, and even Luke and Jonah's friends. Even though he didn't know them personally. He still felt bad for them and didn't wish bad things about them.
He missed everyone, Cooper, Alex, and Nick, Luke and Jonah's best friends. Jake didn't really have friends, his brothers friends were his friends. He kinda had friends everywhere in town but, somehow he never noticed Andi or Mary, just Amber. He thought that was quite weird.
As Jane snaps him out of his thoughts, she lifts his head with a touch of her finger to his chin. "Honey, you seriously have to realize that you don't matter to her," When Jake hears another sound, he looks as the figure in the shadows continues using Jake's voice. "Isn't that sad? Mom doesn't even care about you. Neither does Lizzy. But Amber. You do matter to Amber, in fact, she's sitting by your side, begging you to wake up as we speak." The other me says, as he walks into the light, and gestures to the vision of me on the diner floor unconscious, with Amber by my side.
"What do you want?" I ask with venom in my voice. "Did you take my brothers too?" I said, waiting calmly for an answer. The other me looks like me but has a twisted expression on his face, almost like he wanted me to ask those questions. "We want you to understand something, Ryan."
