"What is this?!"
Thia slaps a newspaper in my lap. It was the newspaper from my city with our interview with Nate. Oh crap.
Xavier, Ty, and Levi were in the kitchen making some kind of food monster and Evan had closed himself in his room like usual.
"Where did you get this?" I question as I raise the newspaper to read it.
"Doesn't matter. You told your entire city about your secret! Our secret!"
I read the article even though I knew exactly what it was about. I argue, "So what? If we're going to reunite the realms like the prophecy said, people actually need to know we're the ones who are going to do it."
"You should have at least talked with the rest of us! What if we weren't ready for other people to know?"
"Well it's too late now. How do we even plan on completing the prophecy, hm? How are we going to reunite the realms if we aren't even apart of them ourselves?"
Thia just stared at me with narrow eyes. That's what I thought.
I open my mouth to continue my argument when there was a knock at the door. Sighing loudly, I stomp over to the door and fling it open.
There stood a tall guy dressed in full armor like he was about to wage into the middle of a battle. A helmet that matches his armor was tucked under his left arm and a sword was strapped to his hip.
He had silver hair, spiking up in random places because of his helmet, and looked about twenty five, definitely old enough to be in some type of army. Silver elf. I knew it immediately.
"Sorry to disturb you, ma'am. Is there someone named Xavier that lives here?" The guy asked in a smooth voice.
"Who's asking?" I reply.
"Jacob?"
I half-turn my body to look behind me. Xavier had poked his head out from around the corner of the kitchen. Once I was no longer blocking the guy in the doorway, Xavier fully emerges from the kitchen and walks over to us with a big grin spread across his face.
"No way! What are you doing all the way out here man?!" He says and does one of those man hugs with the soldier guy. "I thought you would still be in Hinpid."
"I got promoted to captain." He smiles.
"That's awesome! So what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be fending off Pidish girls in a bar by now?"
Th guy chuckles. "Actually I'm here for you."
Thia heads into the kitchen to hang out with Levi.
I step forward. "I'm sorry, who are you?"
"My apologies, miss. I'm Captain Jacob Meckfin. I was instructed to retrieve Xavier and bring him back with me."
"By who?"
"Our leader himself."
Xavier's eyes go wide. "Wait...so you mean..."
Jacob nods. "You've been accepted back in."
His jaw sightly drops. "You're serious?"
"I wouldn't joke around with you like this. You in?"
Xavier looks at me. I didn't know what to do.
"On one condition, you have to bring all of us." Xavier negotiates.
Jacob shakes his head. "I can't."
Xavier crosses his arms. "All of us or nobody. You're choice."
Jacob runs his fingers through his hair and sighs. I didn't offer any of my opinions in this conversation so I just stood there awkwardly. It wasn't my place to say anything to persuade one person or the other.
