Levi sat on the ground to catch his breath.

"Wait, I'm so confused. What just happened?" Xavier asks.

I still held my knife in my hand. "My step dad put an angel control band around Levi's throat to try to convince me to come home or something like that."

"What does it do?"

"It depends. Most angels use it to control speech such as only talking about a certain topic or not talking at all." I twirl the knife in my hand.

From the ground, Levi asks, "How did you know I had it on?"

"Well, to be honest, I didn't at first." I answer. "But then I could see something was wrong. I could tell you were dying to say something else but you couldn't. Plus, you simply repeated your answer three times instead of trying to convince me of your answer. You were physically struggling to say stuff and I caught a glimpse of the band."

"How? I didn't see it." Xavier adds.

"You're not an angel. Duh." I joke. "But seriously, only angels can see, use, and remove them."

"So why did you shoot me?" Levi questions.

I smirk. "Because I could and I was still mad at you."

"Was? So you're not mad anymore?"

"I'm not ever going to let it go but yes, I'm not mad anymore. You were forced here against your will. How could I be mad?"

Levi stands up and I slide my knife into my boot. He asks, "So can we get out of this basement now?"

"We can. You can't." I reply.

"What? Why? I thought you weren't mad at me anymore."

"I'm not. That doesn't mean I trust you all of a sudden."

Levi narrows his eyes at me. "Wow."

"I'll leave you the flashlight if that helps." I laugh.

Levi snatches it from Xavier. "Fine."

"See ya later, Levi." I say and begin walking up the stairs to the living room. "Wait!" I exclaim and run back down. I place my hand on his chest and close my eyes.

"Uh...K-"

"Sh!" I scold as I try to concentrate.

I place a protection spell around him so my step dad couldn't try anything else while we were gone. I couldn't do place it against angels only so I put it against everyone but me. Nobody needs to hurt him anyway.

"There." I say as I open my eyes and remove my hand. "There a protection spell around you now so my step dad can't come here and try to do something else on you."

"Oh. Thanks." Levi says.

"Okay, see ya!"

I run up to Xavier who was waiting at the top of the stairs and lock the door behind us. I know it was kind of mean to leave him down there but I know the others haven't exactly warmed up to him yet, especially Thia. They needed time.

"Hey, did you dye your hair?" Ty asks me.

I smile. "Yeah. What do you think?"

"Siiick."

"Whoa, yeah I just noticed. It looks really cool." Xavier compliments.

"Thanks guys."

Levi's POV

I slide down the wall and stretch my legs out in front of me.

That was interesting. I expected it to take longer for Kara to notice what was wrong. I was trying so desperately to get her to talk to me so she could take it off. It felt like I was being restricted of my breathing and my voice was being completely controlled.
