It's been five months since I first moved into this house. In that five months, we have become a lot more fit from training, we drove the two raider camps farther away from us, and all of us have developed all of our powers.

Xavier's powers have grown a lot stronger. He can make fully grown trees now and even made a bird egg once. His defensive powers have been under his complete control now. His powers are the most developed out of all of us.

Evan was very denial of his powers at first. He refused to be associated with a fairy at all. So, when the first signs of his powers showed, he tried to hide them the best he could. Soon, they started getting out of control and he was forced to accept them.

One time, I walked in on him cowering in the corner from an illusion of his mother. It was an awful scene. He was begging his mom not to hit him. I immediately rushed into the room and ran straight through his mother, showing him it was only an illusion. Tears had filled his eyes and he hugged his knees to his chest. He looked so scared and helpless. That was the day he realized this was serious and he finally accepted his powers.

Ty was just a train wreck. He loved his powers but he was terrible at controlling them at first. He had accidentally created a mini hurricane in the kitchen and created an absolute disaster. We eventually got rid of it and had to deal with his shenanigans for an entire week before he could drink the potion.

Thia was fairly normal when her powers developed. It turns out that she can absorb electricity and then use it somewhere else. She can't make a wall socket shock someone if they're sitting right next to it. She only accidentally shocked someone when she touched them. Other than that, it wasn't too bad.

Lastly, there was me. My dreams didn't need controlling because there was nothing to control. They were just dreams. My fire abilities actually didn't need controlling either. I could start or stop a flame at will without having to drink the potion. The note did say you had to drink the potion only if your powers needed controlling. I never drank mine.

The same thing happened to every person that drank the potion. It was like Xavier's reaction. They would pass out, get a fever, suddenly wake up, and the fever would vanish. It was very strange but nobody questioned it.

Everything was going great. I finally forgot about going home and missing it because life here was so much better. I loved being around everyone here, yes Evan too even though he was very annoying sometimes.

Then there was one night that I will never forget.

It was about 11:15 at night. Evan and I were sitting in the living room, sitting by the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate, and just talking. It was actually nice to really talk to him one-on-one. Once I got used to the asshole Evan, I uncovered the smart and nice Evan. I know, I couldn't believe he could be nice either. But don't be fooled, he was still a complete jerk a lot of the time.

We were talking about what dogs were because I STILL hadn't learned what they were when there was a knock at the door.

"Can you hold this for a second?" I ask Evan and hold out my hot chocolate mug.

"Sure." He replies and takes my cup by the handle.

I stand up and crack open the door.

"Kara?"

My eyes widen in shock. No freaking way. I swing the door open and see my dad standing there!

"Dad?" I say.

"Oh, Kara honey," He wraps his arms around my waist and picks me up. "Oh, I've missed you so much. You're so fit and beautiful."

I awkwardly wrap my arms around his neck. I was still confused as to why he was here. "Uh, dad, what are you doing here?"
