I stood in complete darkness. I couldn't see a thing. Where was I?

A spotlight turns on from somewhere and focuses on a single door. It wasn't attached to a wall or anything, just a door sitting in the middle of a black room.

It opened on its own to reveal our house. Thia, Ty, Xavier, Evan, and Levi all sat on the couches laughing and having a good time. Everyone was getting along. Everyone was happy.

I try to step forward when shackles form around my ankles, preventing me from moving forward at all. I try to reach for the door and the shackles appear around my wrists as well. I pull against them with all my might but it was no use.

I try to call out to them but no words come out of my mouth. What was going on? Why couldn't I go home?

"That is not your home." A voice behind me states. "It will never be your home. Your home is with me in our angel city. You don't belong there."

I turn my head to see it's my step dad speaking. He had an evil look in his eyes.

"You're wrong. I will never be at home with you."

"Oh, Kara, of course you will." He says in a sinister tone.

"No!"

He picks up the chains to my shackles and starts to pull me backwards, away from my friends.

"No!" I protest and try to pull against him.

He was too strong. No matter what I did, I continued to be pulled back.

"It would be so much easier if you would just comply, Kara."

"NEVER!" I scream.

I was pulled through another door and it closes in my face. My shackles disappear and I try to open the door. It wouldn't budge.

"You're home now." My step dad says behind me.

I spin around and see I'm back in my old house. Everything looked just the way I had left it. "This isn't my home. Not anymore."

"Of course it is. Didn't you miss me?" My mom says, appearing from behind my step dad.

She had a kind of dazed look in her eyes. My step dad had hypnotized her.

"I don't belong here anymore." I state.

"Yes you do, sweetie. You will always belong here. This is your home." She insists.

"No! I want to go back to Earth with my friends! Let me out of here!" I scream and bang on the door again.

"Friends? Those aren't your friends. Those are fugitives that pretend to like you. In reality, they despise you. They're glad you're gone. Did you see how happy they were without you?" My step dad taunts.

"You're lying! They are my friends!"

"No they aren't. I'm your only friend, Kara." Leila appears from behind my mom.

She too had the dazed look in her eyes.

"Let me out of here!" I yell and run into the kitchen to grab some sort of weapon.

The three of them stood in the kitchen in a perfect line. All at once, they say, "You will never escape."

I back away from them and start to hyperventilate. When I turn around, they were standing right behind me.
