Chapter Fourteen

Lapis's POV:
Slowly my eyes open as I rise from Steven's bed. He's fast asleep and I dare not disturb him. The dark circles around his eyes were a clear indication this was the best sleep he was getting. I summon my wings and gently flap out, landing on the hard wood floor. A cold feeling immediately hits, sending me shivers. How could humans ever not wear shoes while walking on this?

"Lapis..." Steven mutters, shifting slightly in his bed. I turn around to look at him. There's a big smile on his face and he appears to be blushing a bit. Heh, having a nice dream are we? I gently giggle to myself before making my way downstairs where the other gems were.

Peridot, Bismuth and Amethyst are in the living room playing a video game while Pearl and Garnet are in the kitchen. They all notice me.

"There's the lucky gem," Garnet grins, sliding her shades down and giving me a wink which I can't help but blush from.

Amethyst hands the controller over to Peridot and walks over to me. "So how was your date with the main man Steven."

My gem glows as my cheeks grow dark in color. "There's so many words to describe that night, but all I can say is it was like a dream~," I sigh dreamily, thinking back on that night as everyone giggles.

"You really love him, don't you?" Pearl asks, smiling softly towards me.

I nod, "more than anything in this entire universe. He completes my gem and I think I complete him. Feels like the world orchestrated this whole thing to happen.

"Love does work in many mysterious ways. That's what makes every new relationship exciting, there's new paths, new possibilities for brighter futures. And I can tell you for certain your future is going to be bright with Steven," She smiles as I groan knowing she knows everything that's going to happen. Future vision is a gift but a curse, especially if you're not the one who possesses it.

"Is Steven awake?" Pearl asks, eyeing the stairs.

I shake my head, "no but we should let him sleep. He's been through a lot and I can tell he hasn't slept much. So this should be good for him."

Everyone nods in agreement at that.

"Wait, when was the last time Steven talked to his therapist?" Amethyst asks out of curiosity and it stumps us all.

Pearl puts her hand to her chin, "hmmm, come to think of that has anyone told Greg of Steven's situation?"

We all shake our heads. His father does have a right to know what happened, no matter how much it would hurt him to learn his son almost relapsed.

We hear creaks upstairs as Steven starts slowly walking down the steps, yawning and stretching as he does so. "Morning everyone!" He smiles cheerfully which makes us all smile.

His eyes turn my direction with a loving look as he walks up and wraps his arms around me, lifting me off the ground. I squeak in surprise before he silences me with a kiss. My lips gladly press back as I touch his cheek. He pulls away and kisses my forehead. "And good morning to my beautiful sea angel."

"Steveeeeeeeennnnn!!!" My cheeks are a bright violet.

"What? Is it a crime to show love and affection to my girlfriend?" Steven smooches my cheek and sets me down.

Amethyst and Peridot scream giddily. "You two are seriously the cutest! We can hardly bare it," They sigh and pretend to faint.

Everyone else just laughs at their sillyness.

"So what's the plan today love birds~?" Garnet says teasingly.

Steven laughs it off, even though I can see clear as day he's as embarrassed as I am.
