Steven's POV:
I slowly open my eyes, squinting them slightly do to the sunlight. My gaze lowers down to Lapis who's snuggled deep in my chest, not intending on ever letting go. She looked so adorable laying there I dare not disturb her. Shifting against me, Lapis buries her face into my neck as my cheeks turn beet red.

Wow... Lapis is really a snuggler, wonder if Peridot knew this.

"Steven..." She whispers in her sleep, stirring slightly. "I.. I.." She stops herself. Is she having a nightmare?

Gently placing my hand on her shoulder, I shake her awake. "Lapis? Lapis wake up."

"Mmm," She slowly lifts her head from my neck and smiles down at me. "Good morning Steven, you sleep well?" Lapis asks before realizing how close she is to me and backs off, her cheeks growing dark in color. "S-sorry!"

I shrug it off with a chuckle, "Lapis, friends are allowed to cuddle it's not wrong."

She looks at me in surprise, "It's not?"

My head shakes, "no, it's not. Actually a lot of friends cuddle with each other, it's a nice feeling. I know I liked it."

"M-maybe we could do this every night? I-id really like that," Lapis twiddles her fingers, looking down shyly. She looked so cute so shy.

I smile, "I'd like that Lapis. We are probably gonna be hanging a lot more. Connie just isn't someone I see as a friend anymore. So you're my new best friend, I think you've always been my best friend from the very beginning. Especially from last night.." I turn my head in shame from the event last night.

I feel Lapis grasp my cheeks, turning my attention back to her. She looked me dead in my eyes with a serious expression. "We don't think about the past, we look forward into the future. We make mistakes, I've surely made my fair share of them. But you taught me how to change, how to look on the bright side of things, let me do the same for you, okay?"

Tears begin to leak down my eyes as I tackle her in a tight hug. "Okay.. Thank you Lapis.. Thank you for everything you've done for me."

I can feel her smile, rubbing my back gently. "You've always done it for me, now it's someone else's turn to pay you in return for your never ending kindness."

Slowly I can feel myself calm down, relaxing against her. Man she really had a way with words, I couldn't explain it. There was a warmth in my chest, it felt right. I pull away, wiping my eyes with a smile. "So, we had a plan to hang out today?"

Lapis nods with a grin, "I'm sure my students can go without their teacher for the day, so I'm all yours."

I nod and smile, getting out of bed. "I'll be right back so we can get started on the day. I have a few ideas that would be fun."

"Okay, Steven I can't wait," She grins, sitting there as I go downstairs and into the bathroom.

I couldn't deny how light I felt on my feet today, like a weight was lifted from my chest. Maybe this is exactly what I needed.

Lapis's POV:
Steven rushes downstairs with a smile on my face. It was so good to see him happy again, especially after yesterday. I couldn't deny, being there snuggled up with him felt so amazing. The feeling of safety and warmth with his arms around me. If only we could of stayed like that all day, I surely wouldn't of been opposed to the idea.

But a sigh escapes my lips, thinking about these feelings that continue to grow for Steven. I wonder when it would ever be the right time to tell him how I feel.

"Lapis I'm ready!" I hear Steven say, breaking me from my thoughts as I turn my attention back to the stairs. There he was in his casual attire, his black t-shirt with a yellow star paired with his pink jacket and jeans.

I stand up from the bed, blushing slightly. "You mind turning around so I can dress myself in the appropriate attire?"

A blush spreads across his cheeks as he nods, turning his back to me. My gem glows as my nightly clothes disappear and our replaced with a blue top with a golden trim, exposing some of my lower stomach with black leggings. "Okay, you can turn around now," I tell him.

He turns around but is left in awe at me. I smile, posing slightly. "So how do I look? I came to learn my other attire looked something off of a human movie named Sinbad. So I figured I'd change my look."

"You look... Amazing I love it!" Steven grins, taking my hand as he leads me downstairs. The gem all admire my new look as I blush in embarrassment.

"Love the new look Lappy!" Amethyst smirks at Steven holding my hand. "Awww, Stevie got a girlfriend?"

We both blush, looking the other way in embarrassment. "No Amethyst she's just my friend, were going to hang out today."

"Oh that sounds nice," Pearl chimes in with a smile. "Hope you two have fun."

"I'm sure they will," Garnet adjusts her visor with a sly grin.

Steven groans in embarrassment as I giggle. "We'll be back later, see ya!" He takes my hand, leading me out of the temple, down the steps of his porch.

"So, Steven? What was your idea of our hang out today?" I ask in curiosity.

Steven smiles, "I thought we could go swimming for a bit, maybe go dancing after. Then just sit here on the beach and let the sun set, how about that?"

"Sounds great!" I grin in anticipation for the day that long awaited us.

Finally me and Steven were going to be alone all day, and who knows maybe I could finally tell him how I truly feel.

A new chapter has finally been made, I apologize for the cliffhanger that I've left you all on, but it's going to be worth it I promise. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you all in the next one, stay tuned, laters.  :)
