Lapis's POV:
Two months have long since passed our first encounter with Red Diamond. Steven has been training relentlessly. I worry a lot about him, he's changed from a sweet, caring guy that is now battle-hardened. We all know Steven didn't take White's shattering well, any of us did in that matter.

He asked Pearl to train him in sword fighting. All he had were defensive abilities, nothing offensive. She wasn't on board at first, but Steven's look was enough for her. Yellow had reformed maybe a week ago, whatever Red did to her it took a long time for her to heal. Both diamonds were now helping him become stronger.

I miss my sweet boyfriend, but I had to be strong for him. He had just finished a training session with Garnet in hand-to-hand combat. Wiping sweat from his brow he looked over at me and gave a small smile. My heart fluttered, he hasn't smiled ever since Red came here. It brought me comfort that I could make him still smile.

He walked over to me where I was sitting and sat down next to me. "Hey," Steven smiled, grasping my hand into his.

"Hey, handsome," I smiled back, leaning against him as he gladly took me into his embrace.

Steven holds me tighter, nearly crushing me. "I'm sorry I've been making no time for you, Lapis I just need to be ready for when Red comes back."

I gently lift my head from his chest and place my hand on his cheek. "There's nothing to apologize for," I smiled. "I understand, but I'm here to support you through this I hope you always know that."

He grasps my cheeks and kisses me deeply and passionately as I respond in wrapping my arms around him. "I'm glad I have you, Lapis. I wouldn't be able to get through this without you."

"I hope you guys know your cuteness is intoxicating," Amethyst giggles. "It's just too adorable."

Pearl giggles with her, "I have to agree with Amethyst on this one. You two are perfect for each other."

"That's something we can all agree on," Garnet grins, adjusting her shades.

Me and Steven both are blushing in embarrassment but smiled nonetheless. It was good to have Steven back, but behind that sweet smile was something dark and that's what worried me most. It was an emotion he didn't show almost at all, hatred.

"Why don't we wrap up training for today, Steven you and Lapis need some much-needed couple time," Pearl recommends.

I look up at Steven as he thinks about it for a moment. Then he looks down at me and I grasp his arm, giving him puppy dog eyes. "Pleeeeeeeeeease babe."

Steven sighs in relent with a smile. "You know I can't say no to that face."

"Yay!" I jumped in his arms, snuggling my head into his chest as he held me.

"Alright, I'll see you guys later, " Steven waved to the others.

"Have fun with your lady Steven!" Blue coos teasingly.

"Don't have too much fun you two," Amethyst winks.

I just roll my eyes, "how did you live with them for as long as you did?"

Steven shrugs, "I'm not exactly sure. When I was younger it was okay, but I've gotten older and it becomes more and more embarrassing."

A thought occurs, "Is your car repaired yet?"

"Yeah, why you ask?" Steven looks down at me.

"Maybe we could have our little getaway from this place? I know you've been training hard and are cautious about Red coming back, but you need to take care of yourself too, " I place my hand on his cheek. "I worry so much about you."

Steven sighs in weariness, "I guess I have been pushing myself pretty hard lately. Alright, Lappy let's go somewhere, I need the break."

I grin, "Then let's go! I'll take the Crystal Gem Communicator with us just in case."

He nods and smiles, carrying me over to his dad's car wash where the dondai was parked. Greg looks up from his phone. "Hey Steven, what do you need?"

We all had to admit Pearl getting together with Greg was the best thing to happen to him. He sold his van a month ago and even renovated his car wash more with the times of now.

"You mind if I take the dondai?" Steven asks.

Greg chuckles and throws him the keys. "You don't have to ask your old man. It's your car, just no more accidents. Be safe that's all I ask.

"I will dad," Steven sets me down and hugs his father, before walking over to the car and getting in. I get in as well and place my hand on his.

He smiles and starts the car, pulling out and taking off.

"So where do you have in mind we go?" I ask, excited to finally have alone time with my Steven.

Steven grins, "the first place we went to together."

I know this is short and it's been a while since the last update. Regardless I'm trying my best for you guys. Life has just been really sucky lately. My dad got into an accident and I thought he was dead, just not good things. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this short, cutesy chapter and I'll see you all in the next one, laters.  :)
