Lost Without You {COMPLETED}

Chapter Six

Lapis's POV:
I just want to wrap my arms around Connie's neck and strangle her, maybe even drown her in the ocean. She was never good for Steven and I knew it. Even back then when he did that video call from me and Peridot when he came back home. He looked so upset and I knew why.

But I can't think about that right now. Steven needs me. "Pearl, where did they say he was?" I ask urgently.

"The keystone medical center, I have it on my gps now.." She replies trying so hard not to cry. She is a true mother figure Steven needed.

Garnet takes Pearl's phone out of her hand and gives it to me. "Go to him Lapis, he needs you most," She smiles giving me a wink.

My cheeks grow a little Blue but I smile nonetheless giving her a hug. "Thank you Garnet."

"We'll be right behind you," She returns the hug.

I pull away and nod, summoning my water wings.

"Can I come with you guys?" Connie asks as everyone turns in her direction with distaste.

"You've done enough," Amethyst scowls.

I waste no more time to take off. "Peridot get on," I say as she hops onto my back as I make sure she's secure. "Hang on," I leap in the air, flapping my wings. Peridot's arms tighten around me.

Glancing down at Pearl's phone, there's a line that guides me where I'm going. I'm not completely understanding of this cellphone, but Peridot being the genius nerd she is taught me how.

"I hope Steven is okay..." Peridot whimper, clutching onto me.

I frown, keeping my tears at bay. "Me too."

Eventually I land in front of the building when my the cellphone says "you have arrived at your destination." I let Peridot down off my back as me and her walk into the building. It's dead of color, now I know why no humans like hospitals. There's a human lady at a desk.

She notices our presence and lifts her head from the computer screen. "Can I help you?"

"Is there a Steven Universe here?" I ask urgently, "he was in a car accident."

She looks back down at her computer, using her hands and fingers to type information in. "Ah, yes we do have a Steven Universe here. In room 201, take the elevator to the second floor."

"Thank you!" Me and Peridot rush to an elevator.

Peri presses a button that calls the machine down to us. The door opens as we step in. She presses the number two as it closes. I feel like my body is pushed up which causes me to grab the handle. I've never rode this thing before and in retrospect I could've flown to thr second floor.

Eventually the door opens as we step out. We look left and right, the number of rooms go from two hundred to one hundred on the left. So we take right. We stop when we see 201. Gently opening the door, we walk in.

There's a human in a white coat who smiles at us. "Steven looks like you got some visitors. I'll be back to check on you," he walks past us and closes the door behind us.

We walk up to his bedside. My words get caught in my throat. Steven laid there with a broken nose, gashes along his arms and a gauze wrap around his head with a few bruises on his legs.

He notices us standing there and cracks a small smile, "Hey Peri.. Lapis..." his voice sounds so weak it tears my heart in two if I had one.

"Steven!" Peri runs over to hug him, crying her eyes out.

I take a seat next to him, laying my hand on his. "Thank goodness your okay," I smile softly but he doesn't.

"I guess... Wish I could of died in that car accident.." He says with no single bit of emotion.

My eyes widen in shock. "W-what?"

Before I can question more, everyone barges in the room. "Steven!!!"

Pearl rushes over to his side hugging him. "Thank the stars my baby is okay!"

He puts on a smile, one with no emotion or feeling. It's completely fake. "Of course.. Nothing can take down this diamond."

Everyone let's out a chuckle, but me and Peridot after hearing what he said.

Steven's father than comes through the door with tears in his eyes. "STEVEN!" he rushes over to his bedside and gives him a tight hug, wrapping his arms dearly around him. "I thought I lost you... I don't know what I'd do without you Stu-ball."

Keeping up his mask, he responds. "You won't lose me dad.. I promise."

"We heard about what happened at the diner with Connie," Amethyst speaks up as Steven looks away, his mask dwindling.

"I don't want to talk about her..." Steven says slightly cold.

She nods, not pushing the situation further. I want to say something, but I can't. Steven still lays there with a fake smile on his face like everything is okay when it's not. "Guys.. Me and Peridot need to tell you something.. Steven sa-" I'm cut off when Connie barges through the door. Steven gives me a look like were you just about to tell them what I said. The look is heartbreaking, that of hatred.

"Steven! I'm so glad you're okay. Look, I'm sorry about breaking up with you. I was just being stupid," Connie walks up next to me and holds his hand. "Could you ever forgive me?"

"Forgive you? You care about me now after you just threw our relationship away over college... No Connie.. I can't forgive you..." his skin begins to become pink. "I hate you..." it becomes a darker hue, "I HATE YOU! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN! I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING AND YOU DO THIS TO ME?! GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT!!!!!!!" the windows shatter as his bed collapses from the sheer force of his voice.

Greg quickly takes Connie out as everyone looks at Steven in pure shock. His mask broke.

"Bro..." Amethyst frowns deeply, "I thought this stopped with your powers."

His eyes widen as he realizes how he reacted, "I-I'm sorry..." Tears gather in his eyes. Everyone including myself surrounds him in a hug. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of Steven sobbing his heart out once again. But all I could think about was the words he said "I wish I would've died in that car accident..." that would be inside my mind forever. And I knew when Steven leaves this hospital that I was going to make him feel better just like he deserved rightfully in the first place.

Sorry guys but as you all thought Lapis was gonna confess her love to him. It's not how this is planned. But they're finally together again, but also things are gonna go dark from here.
