Lost Without You {COMPLETED}

Chapter Twenty Three

"Let's end this, brother, " Steven said as he dashed forward. Red did the same. "Once and FOR ALL!" He swung his blade, clashing against Red's steel.

Red began laughing maniacally, pushing against Steven's strength. "Oh, I've waited for this moment all my life, Steven. Finally, " his strength was far greater than Steven's. Thousands of year's of training, compared to two months are nothing. But he wasn't going to give up; not by a long shot.

He shoved Red back, "This moment won't come to pass, Red. I swear I will rid you of this galaxy!"

"Heh, funny... YOUR AUNTS TRIED TO DO THAT ALREADY!" Red raised his hand as a plasma blast came from it, heading straight for Steven. It was moving to fast to maneuver it.

Steven had no choice but to hold up his arms, trying his best to block it with his diamond shield, but to no avail. The blast sent Steven flying into the temple house, straight through the roof completely destroying it due to his new size.

"STEVEN!" Everyone screamed and ran towards the house before soldiers blocked their path.

"You'll have to get through us, first, " One of them smirked, holding smaller black blade.

Blue and Yellow stepped in front of the crystal gems, gazing down at them. "An easy task for weak gems such as yourself, " Yellow smirked confidently as the soldiers were now shaking in their boots.

"Oh, my stars you're pathetic! I'll take care of the diamonds, focus on the gem-" Red's sentence was cut short when Steven had risen from the debris of the temple.

"Our fight is soon to be over, brother, " Steven grinned as he now had struck a nerve in Red.

Red gritted his teeth, as his aura had strengthened. The black corruption on his arm rose above his shoulder. "I'll kill you, Steven!" He leaped forward and in a flash, he was gone.

Steven widened his eyes, shooting his head around in every direction. Red appeared behind him. "DIE!" His blade went down for Steven's head before he swiftly turned to block it. A shockwave was sent, sending everyone including the soldiers off their feet.

Red didn't relent, pushing Steven into the sand, causing a crater. But due to how unstable Red was becoming this gave him the advantage. Without hesitation, he swiftly slide kicks Red's foot, causing him to fall to the ground. Steven then quickly gets up, but instead of grabbing his sword, he uses his fists and starts pounding Red down. Red tries his best to block the attacks.

Black liquid began to leak from his nose. It was almost like blood but in a way corrupted. This caught Steven off guard as he stepped back. Red stood up, laughing as the corruption spread further over his body. "If you wanted hand-to-hand combat little brother you could've asked~"

Steven frowned, "I thought I could save you from this, but I have to accept to you're too far gone."

The others had finished off the soldiers as they turned to the battle ahead. Steven had a few cuts and bruises, but overall he was okay. Red looked like he was hardly touched.

"We should help him!" Amethyst says before Garnet puts her hand on his shoulder. "This is something Steven needs to do. All we can do is watch."

"But Garnet!" Amethyst protests.

"She's right, Amethyst."

Everyone looked behind them there was Pearl reformed. "If I know my baby boy, he's going to give his all. This isn't the Steven we once knew. Look at his face and you'll see for yourself."

They turned back to look back at Steven. There was a look of determination, a fire they've never seen.

"Woah... All the years I've known him I've never seen that look, " Connie commented.

Steven got ready as his aura grew in power. His whole skin glowing Pink, along with his hair. Humans and gems alike were shocked at this amount of power surging through him.

"KICK HIS ASS STEVEN!" Lars cheered.

"You can do it stchuball!" Greg grinned, "we Universe's never given up!"

"For once dad, " Steven smiled softly. "I'm proud to have the name, " he dashed forward towards Red.

"I'll kill you!" Red grinned maniacally and even animalistic. "I'll tear you in half, your gem and all!" His speed increased to take a swing.

Steven ducked under and gave him an uppercut to the jaw, but not before sending another first to his face. Red hardly flinched that time and slammed his corrupted fist into his cheek. Blood splattered the sand, but Steven wasn't going to give up. Punches were thrown back and forth. Blood and black liquid littering the sand.

"I don't think I've seen such a brutal battle..." Lapis comments, worrying for Steven.

Steven was breathing heavily, dodging the best he could, but Red wasn't letting up. Until Steven kicked him off. He took his chance to stand up and slammed his fist into Red's gut, and reeled his head back, smashing his head against his.

Red stumbled back, nearly losing his balance. "Okay, playtime is over little brother, I have other important places to be, " he raised his arm. "Get me out of here."

In seconds the ship arrived.

"Heh, thought you could escape? NOW PERIDOT!" He ordered as a cannon off in the far distance radiated green plasma energy.

"This is what happens when you mess with the crystal gems, CLOD!" She pulls the trigger and fires the cannon.

The beam travels at the speed of light before the ship can activate it's shields. It pierces straight through the ship as it immediately begins to plummet to the ground. When it hits an explosion erupts knocking Red and everyone except Steven off their feet.

"NO! MY SHIP DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT WENT INTO BUILDING THAT!?" Red was absolutely furious, but unbeknownst to him while he was distracted. Steven trailed right behind him.

"I'LL KILL YOU STE-" His words were cut short by a blade impaled through his chest. Black liquid spewed like a fountain as his gem split in half.

Steven took his sword out and stepped back in confusion. "Why didn't you shatter?!"

Red turns around with an insane look on his face. "This corruption won't let me die... You severed my gem part... But now.." the black corruption began to spread through his entire body, enveloping his form. "Bare witness to true power!" His voice became more demonic as his size grew more. Spikes protruded from his shoulders and back. His body transformed into a more animal-like form. Black scales covered his body, horns grew from his head and mouth. Red eyes glowed with no pupil.

Steven stepped back in fear and shock. "No..."

Before him was no longer Red or his brother. It was a monster, wanting blood and lots of it. The final battle was about to begin and Steven was going to do something that he never wanted to do.

Woooooo damn what a chapter! Sorry, I left you guys on a cliffhanger. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and there are probably two more left, so stay tuned. I know you ask what is Steven going to do. I'll give you a hint "fight fire with fire."
