"Hello Maddie!!"

Maddie's eye brows furrowed when someone called her name with greeting and that girl is no other than Avery. Lumingon siya sa gawi nito at nakita itong papalapit sa kanya habang nakangiting kumakaway. Avery is wearing a blue off shoulder dress and she looks pretty on it while Maddie is wearing a red cocktail dress which is suits her curve very well because it is sleeveless and tight. It is four inches above her knee that expose her long and white pair of legs.

Nagustuhan niya kasi iyong style kaya iyon ang pinili niyang isuot over the ten dress na binili nung mga gay na inutusan ni Kai. Actually, Kai did not agreed on her because he doesn't wan't the dress for her pero nagpumilit si Maddie kaya wala ng nagawa si Kai. She rolled her eyes at thought. Napaka-possessive naman nun, kala mo kung sino. Pati ba naman damit na isusuot niya ay dapat daw na siya ang pumili pero dahil isa't kalahating pasaway siya ay hindi niya ito sinunod because after all, it's her body not his.

She smiled at Avery when it reach her place. May hawak-hawak itong wine just like her. Mag-isa lang si Maddie ngayon sa table niya because Kai needs to approached his visitors which is his bussiness partners. Wala kasi ang parents ni Kai ngayon, nasa ibang bansa sila and she guest, doon na ata sila naninirahan kasi may bussiness din sina Kai doon. Mga importanteng okasyon lang ang pinupunta nila dito like for example, Kai's birthday, Christmas like that.

She shrugged her shoulder and finally turned her gaze to Avery na lumilingon-lingon kung saan-saan. Parang may hinahanap. There's a ghost smile that crept from Maddie's lips. Baka hinahanap niya si Carl kasi wala namang ibang magdadala kay Avery dito sa event kundi ang boss niya na kaibigan ng boss ni Maddie.

"Looking for someone?" she asked out of the blue na siyang ikinalingon naman ni Avery sa kanya. Parang natauhan ito sa ginagawa kaya alanganin siyang ngumiti kay Maddie.

"A-ano.....hinahanap ko lang si Carl, sabi niya kasi, may importante daw siyang gagawin" malumanay na saad nito sa kanya.

Maddie look around as if looking for someone and when she already saw what she need to see, she tilted her head and drink on her red wine before turning her gaze at Avery na sa tingin niya ay hindi pa nakita ang bagay na nakita niya. Napailing ito at napangisi. Looks like she smell something fishy.

"At kailan pa naging importante ang pakikipag-landian?" Tumaas ang kilay ni Maddie matapos iyong sabihin. Nilingon siya ni Avery ng may nagtatanong na mga mata. She seems confuse on what she just uttered.

"H-huh?"

"Look over there" saad ni Maddie sa kanya at nginuso ang kinalalagyan ni Carl na may kasa-kasamang mestisang babae. They seems having fun to each other habang ang babae ay may nalalamn pang papalo-palo pa braso ni Carl. She rolled her eyes when she saw Avery turned her gaze at Carl and the girl's direction.

Pinanood lang ni Maddie ang reaksiyon nito na tila nagulat sa nakita. She shooked her head and sip on her red wine. Nakita niyang nag-iba ang timpla ng mukha ni Avery bago pa man ito nag-iwas ng tingin kina Carl. She seems hurt on what she just saw.

"Nagseselos ka?" tanong nito sa kanya.

"H-hindi ah. Bakit naman ako magseselos" saad naman nito sa kanya at alanganing ngumiti. Tila pinipilit na wala lang yung nakita niya. "Tsaka isa pa, baka tapos na niyang gawin iyong importanteng bagay na gagawin niya. Now, I only have to wait for him" she added.

Maddie frowned. Why does woman did not know how to hide their feelings toward the others? Masyado silang soft hearted to the point na nagiging martyr na sila. Maddie shooked her head on that thought. No one knows not until someone will understand them.
