"Shhh. There she comes." Sana whispered in a bright tone, most of us hiding under the table and behind the couches and sofas in the interaction room. Taehyung kept his giggling trapped inside his mouth, holding my hand tight to not let a noise out. I smiled upon hearing Minjee's gentle steps fill out the hallways because of her favorite brown shoes, which most of the time echoed loud sounds of walking, even if she tiptoed. Minjee entered the lobby, slight confusion plastered onto her face. After a few short seconds, one of the nurses turned on the lights, making all of us jump up to surprise her. "SURPRISE!" We all cheered, her smile making our smiles ten times bigger. Sana held the cake and began singing. She covered her mouth with her left hand, feeling surprised and excited. Her eyes smiled, a sensational spark setting another kind of light inside of the bright room. We finished the song and she ran to us, making us all giggle. I was the first one to run up to her too, hugging her smaller body. "Happy birthday, little one." I smiled, hugging her tightly. "You guys! Why did you do all this?" She questioned with an excited look on her face. Sana giggled and offered her a cake to blow the candles off. She closed her eyes and thought of a wish. After a few seconds, she slowly opened her eyes and giggled, blowing all of the candles off. We all cheered and clapped, feeling slight muscle pain on our cheeks from smiling so much.
After she admired the cake and expressed gratitude towards us, she slowly went her way to hug everyone. She stood in front of Taehyung, who collected himself and gave her a quick hug before she could say that it wouldn't be a big deal to not hug her. Taehyung moved away and managed to smile through the pain, making Minjee feel like a person of great importance and made her feel grateful for it. "Thank you." She whispered, feeling surprised from his sudden sacrificing action. Then, when all of Taehyung's charming attention was returned to me, his soft smile appeared again, right in front of my eyes. We stared at each other for a long time, feeling lost in that room. Everyone was talking, the heard murmurs being about setting the music, cutting the cake and other things like that, that made our stares way too important to turn our attention to such things, and our ears very hard to listen. The light dimmed down in the lobby, the softness of the orange light illuminating Taehyung's proportionate facial features. He smiled, making my eyes wander around as he walked to me. It was a weird moment. In our heads the whole room went silent, the murmurs of others becoming completely silent for our ears. Taehyung's ears perked up a bit, before he opened his mouth to speak. My mind felt heaviness, intuitive of something serious about to happen. And my mind was right, because when Taehyung whispered "Dahyun" with his hot breath against my neck, I knew by the tone he itched for something, and felt a need to confess or ask.
"Yeah?" I asked, feeling his fingers brush against mine. Taehyung took a long breath as he stared into my eyes, preparing himself to ask me something, like he would prepare himself to touch me. Taehyung parted his lips to speak, his tongue involving itself with the words he let out. "let me give you a surprise" Taehyung whispered against my ear, making shivers run down my entire body, some shivers reaching parts of my body I've never felt before. I slightly widened my eyes upon hearing his intimate tone hit my ears. I turned to him, immediately finding his eyes and locking them with mine. "No medication. Just me and you." He spoke, making my body feel timid and my eyes desperate to make sure he really wanted that. "Are you sure?" I whispered, leaning my head closer to him. "Yes. Yes I am." He answered in a confident tone, making me admire his braveness. I smiled and looked down. "Okay. We can try.", softly pecking his lips when no one was watching, or at least that's how it seemed whilst we were trapped in each other's eyes and hand touches.
It felt intimate. I felt enormous intimacy by the looks we shared the entire night. He'd look at me while making Minjee laugh, his look seeming deep on so many levels. Each of those levels and stares carried some sort of certainty. One screamed desire, other was certain it showed care, one was confident, and the other was unreadable, a mix between slow blinks and desire. The entire night I tried not to focus on what it was about to happen when we would get back to our room. And as the party was coming to its end, my heart raced with desire and care, wanting to protect Taehyung, and not hurt him. My worried thoughts were interrupted by Taehyung sitting next to me on the couch, accidentally brushing my elbow against his arm. He ignored it and looked on the other side of the lobby, where Minjee was quietly sitting, looking at her new pastel green earmuffs that had sewn in her name, which we got for her birthday. "Why's she so quiet?" Taehyung asked in a confused tone. I shrugged in slight worry, leaning forward to call her name out. "Minjee." I spoke up, getting her attention. I gestured for her to come sit next to us, to which she softly sighed with a smile. I noticed a slow song was playing as she walked over to us. She plopped down onto the couch and slightly pouted as she looked quite down. "What's wrong, little one?" I questioned with a slightly worried glance, stroking her shoulder to comfort her. She sighed and kept silent for a few seconds before speaking, catching Taehyung's attention beside me too. "It's my wish." She spoke, looking to the floor. "Wishes don't make people sad." I spoke in a cheerful manner, doing my best to comfort someone, helping out not being my strongest area. She shrugged in a playful way and kept silent, adjusting the yellow earmuffs she had on.
