When I was young, my father and I used to live in Hateno Village with my mother and sister. My mother died when I was four. It was also four days after my sister was born. My father had decided that having a son with swordsman training was more valuable and important than raising a daughter. So, he gave my sister to a couple in the village that weren't able to have children. Since the village reminded my father too much of my mother, we moved to Kakariko Village. That's when I met Impa. She was around 21 when I first met her. Despite our large age difference, she became a big sister and motherly figure to me. Then, when I turned five, my father told me the meaning behind my name and that is what caused me to go silent. He had prioritized me over my sister because I was named after the legendary knight and he thought that I would take his place one day. My silence worried Impa and she confronted my father but he didn't know why I had suddenly decided to be mute. When I was old enough, she was the one who told me about my absent sister. If I returned to Hateno Village, would she even know who I was?

As I approached the village, memories of our old family home flooded my mind. It was on the outskirts of the village where it was quieter. When Epona and I finally arrived, the house was in disrepair yet looked almost exactly as it did 13 years ago. I dismounted from Epona and led her to the side of the house that had a horse stall. I headed back towards the front of the house and opened the door. It looked as if I had taken the seal off a time capsule. Dust caked almost every surface and all the furniture looked completely untouched. The rest of my day was spent trying to restore the house to its former glory.
