I woke up in a cold sweat and panic. I looked over at the window, it was still dark out. *Sigh* I sat up and ran my fingers through my hair in relief trying to process what happened. I turned my head to check what time it was. 2:30 am Ugh I laid back down in hopes that I would fall asleep again. The only thing my mind could concentrate on was Zelda. Even without her being here in person, she was still always on my mind. Eventually, I fell asleep again.
I opened my eyes and had to squint because of the sun. I should go buy blinds so that maybe I can actually sleep in. I looked over at the time. 9:30 am Had I just dreamt that I woke up? I sat up and began to get ready for the day ahead.
The only thing I knew about my sister was her name: Aryll. I headed into the village in search of a girl with a similar name. I assumed that she probably had blond hair and blue eyes since it ran in our family. Hopefully, she hadn't changed her name or dyed her hair because it would make finding her even harder. Another important thing I knew was that she had to be around 13. I decided not to bring Epona with me into the village and began to head there on foot.
The village has changed so much since I was here last. The first place I decided to go for answers was the village representative. As I was walking, I turned my head to look. I quickly faced forward as I had realized that I had run into someone. A girl in a beautiful blue dress with long red hair that had a large flower in it stood in front of me. "I'm so sorry. Are you okay, mister?" I nodded."I'm Marin." She said as she stuck her hand out for me to shake it. "Link" She seemed to be shocked at my response. "I once had a childhood friend by the name of Link who was a year older than me and I had a huge crush on him. After some family emergency, him and his father left." She's literally talking about me. "I lived here 13 years ago." "Wait, does that mean?" I nodded in hopes that it was the right answer. "Oh my god! It's been so long!" She stated as she went in for a hug and blushed in embarrassment over her confession. I hugged her back as I recalled the memories I had of her.
When we were little, our parents would get so mad when we ran off to the shores of the Necluda Sea. We would watch the ocean waves or just mess around until one of our parents caught us and brought us back to the village. One time I went alone, that was the biggest mistake I had ever made. When my father found me, he literally dragged me home. Once we were home, he turned to my mother "Your son was by the sea again but this time he was by himself." My mother turned to look at me "It's dangerous to go alone. Especially with all the monsters around this area. You should know that, by now." I always hated how my father addressed me to my mother. It was always your son and never my son or Link.
I got a bit distracted after Marin and I reunited. We spent the entire day catching each other up on the events of the past 13 years. At the end of the day, she finally revealed what happened with my sister after I had left and where I could find her.
