Lisa met Rosé's shocked and confused glare. "Damn it, Lis! Both you and Seulgi nearly gave me a heart attack!"
When the Thai didn't budge and just leaned her back against the door, Rosé went on, "That was fast. I thought someone was looking for you."
"It's her, Rosie," Lisa said, hoping not to sound scared. "It's Jennie."
Rosé's jaw dropped. "Really? Then what are you still doing in here, silly? Go talk to her."
"I can't." Lisa was stern. She couldn't just talk to Jennie when she knew she's still mad at the shorter brunette. In fact, she was not yet ready to talk to her at all.
What if I'd say things I'd completely regret later? Lisa said to herself. She didn't trust herself. She had firsthand experience.
"Look, Lis. I know there's a reason why she said those things," Rosé said, standing up. "Don't you want to like, you know, hear her out?"
When she saw Lisa's eyes, the same scared ones Rosé had always witnessed, Rosé then understood why her best friend was acting the way she was acting now.
"Can you tell her I'm busy, please?" Lisa asked. She wasn't busy, but knowing herself, Lisa would probably give in to those beautiful feline eyes, completely forgetting that Jennie doesn't deserve her kindness at all.
This isn't the time for that, Lisa thought.
"Okay," was all Rosé had managed to say as she lightly squeezed Lisa's shoulders. Then Rosé exited the booth.

Two hours later
Outside YG mall"Chahee was right. You're really all work and no play," Jennie's voice filled the crisp air of the night, surprising Lisa by the lamppost just outside the mall entrance. It was apparent the brunette had waited for her until her shift ended.
Lisa decided not to reply and walked past her instead, making Jennie groan then sprint after her.
"Or you're just avoiding me. Which is completely understandable, to be honest."
"What do you want, Jennie?" It wasn't really a question. It was more of an exasperated sigh.
"Do you need a ride home?" Jennie asked, ignoring the tone Lisa was using at her. "I can give you a ride home. I have a Jeep parked nearby. Well, it's not really my car, it's my uncle Jiyong's ."
"Go home, Jennie," Lisa tersely replied. She continued heading to the direction of the small 24-hr coffee shop she'd go to every night.
There was another silence but Lisa knew that the small steps behind her was from the brunette.
"Can you please stop for a minute and talk to me?" Jennie pleaded, her voice so soft, Lisa felt her knees weaken. The Thai knew it wouldn't do her any good if she stopped now.
Finally, Lisa arrived at the coffee shop and ordered herself a late dinner, Tuna Pasta. After she paid for her order on the counter, she turned to look for a place to sit. Even at nighttime, the crowd was filled with students studying and drunk students who just came from late night partying.
As she continued to search, Lisa then noticed one table occupied by the one and only Jennie, smiling and waving at her direction. She stood rooted then hesitantly turned and chose to sit on the stools by the counter instead, the one intended for lone eaters like herself.
"Hey, I saved you a table," Jennie said as she took the stool next to Lisa's.
"What do you want, Jennie?" Lisa asked. Although the Thai's tone sounded casual, Jennie flinched when Lisa spoke.
