Saturday, night
Chaahee's apartmentLisa was watching a movie in the living room when Jennie arrived. The thai didn't want to invite the brunette, thinking that another rejection would surely get her down.
"What are you watching?" Jennie suddenly asked, surprising the thai.
"Oh, it's Portrait of a Lady on Fire.. it's a French film, if you're wondering..."
Jennie slumped on the seat beside Lisa. Lisa had missed this. Just this. She knew the brunette was definitely avoiding her. And she couldn't really pressure her. She could wait, of course.
Lisa hurriedly added when the girls in the movie seemed like flirting, "Oh, if you're also wondering why they're doing that, it's a les-"
"I know, Lisa," Jennie immediately interjected, chuckling softly. "I know."
They watched silently through the film. Lisa hoped the sound was loud enough to muffle the furious beating of her heart. She stole a glance of Jennie beside her. Her wavy brown hair still looked perfect as if a day's work had not troubled her. Her beautiful cat-like eyes luminescent against the TV's screen before them. And her lips, slowly curving into a smile.
"You're staring," Jennie said softly. Lisa mumbled a quick sorry as the thai stared back at the screen. The movie was now showing a scene near the ocean.
"I've never been to any beach," Jennie suddenly mentioned. "Must be nice..."
"You haven't?" Lisa asked, not looking at the brunette anymore to avoid suspicion.
"Well, I've never been anywhere else aside from Busan and Seoul."
"If you want, I can take you to a famous beach back home... in Cheonan," Lisa offered. And she immediately regretted it, realizing she sounded a bit too forward.
After a moment's pause, Jennie then answered, calming the redhead down. "I'd love that."
Lisa decided to change the topic as the scene now had focused to the characters making love. "You must be excited then on your trip to Greece."
Jennie then chuckled. "Yeah, I am.. another check unto my bucket list, I guess."
The thai noticed Jennie was fumbling with her phone, as if nervous. The scene had now gone back to normal and she still looked uneasy. Then she suddenly blurted out.
"I really didn't apply for a job because of the class trip," Jennie admitted. "Our Professor had only announced the trip three days after I started working there..."
Lisa swallowed. "Why did you then?"
It took a moment before Jennie replied. "I tried to get myself busy.. School, then work... it keeps my mind off things... I... I was trying to get over someone who loves someone else...."
Lisa froze. She knew who the brunette meant and it hurt her so much that Jennie's hurting. She stared at the brunette, no longer caring if she noticed.
"And did it work?" Lisa asked.
Jennie only avoided her gaze while shaking her head no.

The next day, evening
Coffee shop nearby"Hey, Jen," Lisa said as she approached the counter. Jennie was busy preparing a drink for a customer.
"Lisa, cappuccino to go?" The brunette asked, smiling widely.
The thai was supposed to ask Jennie on a date, but she nodded. "Yes, please."
Lisa patiently waited for Jennie, scanning around the shop. It was filled up to its brim at early evening. The thai just clocked out of work for the day and wondered if the brunette was also beyond her shift.
