Weeks later, late evening
Blink Arcade, YG MallIt had been weeks since Lisa and Jennie last talked to each other. The brunette had been avoiding the thai. Lisa knew because she wasn't avoiding the brunette. In fact, it was the complete opposite.
Lisa had been trying to spend even just a little time with Jennie. She just missed her. But even when she got home and turned on the tv in the living room, Jennie would just greet her upon coming in and then would go directly to her bedroom. It was the same routine every single day.
It had bothered Lisa so much, Irene was starting to notice. Irene and her were not yet officially girlfriends but Irene's sorority housemates were already considering them as couple.
Lisa still cared for the dark haired girl. Irene had been nothing but nice and amazing to the thai. Irene would exert every effort there was to make her laugh. And that's why Lisa stayed. That's why Lisa chose not to believe and wait for Jennie.
Rosé coughed behind Lisa, surprising her. Lisa almost dropped the bowling ball she was wiping clean unto her foot.
"Swimming in your ocean of thoughts, Lis?" Rosé teased as she took a seat beside where the thai was standing, grabbing a bowling ball and a rag. There weren't any customer at the moment, now that the mall was about to close in an hour.
"It's just... it's just so unfair," the Thai suddenly blurted out, as if she had been waiting for some kind of release. And her best friend was the channel.
"What is?"
Lisa sighed as she slumped on a seat beside her, staring blankly ahead at the empty lanes before them.
"I thought I was doing the right thing," Lisa said.
Rosé pursed her lips. "But the heart wants what it wants, Lis."
Lisa turned her head to stare at her best friend. She had a point. It was true. Her mind spoke of Irene but her heart beat Jennie's name.
"I just.. I just miss her terribly, Rosie," Lisa admitted. Rosé's arm wrapped around the thai's shoulders and gave them a light tug.
"It will be all okay, soon..." Then Rosé let go and grabbed another ball.
Lisa laughed then she asked, "Enough about me... How are things with Jisoo?"
Rosé smiled. "It's good... really good. We go to dates on weekends... We stayed at my apartment most of the time....."
The thai could feel Rosé was hesitating to say something. The girl was wiping the same spot of the ball multiple times now. "But?"
Her best friend exhaled a sigh of defeat. "She told her mom... about us.."
The thai's eyes widened, expecting the worst judging from Rosé's face.
Rosé went on. "Her mom didn't take it lightly... she said that Jisoo was just confused..."
Lisa interrupted. "But you're both too old now to know the difference between what is real and what is not-"
"I know," Rosé replied. "But... her mom planted some scary thoughts inside her head. And Jisoo had been acting all strange towards me since then, asking how many girls and guys I had shagged before her.."
"God, that's awful..."
"I know." Rosé bit back a sob. "At least her dad approves of us."
"Really?" Lisa asked. She knew Jisoo's father was a Sheriff in Busan. "That's a step, Rosie."
"I hope so-"
Their conversation was suddenly interrupted when a group of students entered the bowling alley. Lisa would really just not mind the customers but her eyes quickly caught a familiar figure.
