Next day, lunchtime
Cafeteria, University of SeoulAn experiment. A cure to loneliness. Maybe that was all Lisa was to Jennie the other night. She didn't want to think about it more than she let on. She needed to stop pining over a straight girl who would never love her the same way.
Jennie was sitting with Ten across from them, and they were cheerfully talking. Like nothing happened between Lisa and Jennie.
Lisa mindlessly ate her food. It was dry. Well, it wasn't Jennie's homecooked meal. The brunette seemed to be avoiding Lisa since last night. And as much as she didn't like to admit it, the brunette was slowly slipping away from her fingers, slowly drifting back to being strangers.
Rosé was talking about what she did yesterday, something about Jisoo. But Lisa wasn't really listening.
When the group had finally finished their lunch and proceeded to exit the cafeteria, Rosé suddenly grabbed Lisa.
"So, did you two talk?" Rosé asked.
Lisa went on walking along the corridors, ignoring her question.
Rosé followed her best friend. "I suspect you haven't."
The Thai stopped and looked at her shoes. "We talked..."
"And?"
Lisa's eyes betrayed her as tears slowly made their way down her cheeks.
"Hey, hey," Rosé cooed, embracing her best friend into a hug.
"It was a mistake, Rosie... It was a mistake..."
Rosé rubbed her back as she hugged her tighter. "Ssshh, it will be okay, Lis... ssshh..."

Next day, late afternoon
Blink Arcade, YG mallLisa's phone suddenly chimed as she handed a size 6 bowling shoe to a small girl. The bowling alley seemed to be filled up to its brim with a lot of customers waiting in line. It was noisy from all the chatters but Taehyung was in charge of the music for the day, so Lisa had him at her favors.
The message was from Chahee.
Chahee: Nini is officially taken! I'm in town tonight. We're gonna celebrate at Island. 8pm, that's when your shift ends, right? Don't be late.
Island was a famed bar in Seoul, where young adults go to party every night. University students were welcomed as long as they're on their drinking age.
The black-haired almost threw her phone. But she knew she doesn't have a budget for a new one. Who was she kidding? Of course, it would always be Ten. Jennie was a straight girl who was just lonely and sad one night.
"Excuse me?!" A teenage boy was shouting at the redhead. "Size 7 please!"
Lisa went to attend to the customer. She couldn't even focus on her work. Lisa hated the way it affected her. She shouldn't be the one acting like she'd failed.
You get to be with the woman you dreamed for, even just for one night, Lisa said to herself. Try not to make a big deal out of it.
But it was a big deal to Lisa. She really loved the brunette.
Lisa: I can't. I have to finish my manuscript. Pass on my congratulations.
Chahee: You're no fun, Manoban!
