Chapter 12: Biggest surprise

Few weeks have passed,my relationship with Finn was back to normal. But he's still busy with his work. Which I totally understand and being the great wife I am,I trust that he won't be snogging around with sluts.

Then I heard my phone ringing. Quickly with my super natural skill and grabbed my phone and looked at the caller ID which made me smile.

Picking it up"Hello darling. Took you this long to call me." I said smiling through the phone when I hear Paige laugh.

"Jeez,I was busy ok. Calm your tits woman." I laughed at her remark. it's been few months and I really miss her. She didn't know what happened between me and Finn. I am also not planning to tell her.

"So why did you miraculously call me with your free time eh?"

"Just wanted to wish you happy birthday and say sorry that I can't celebrate it with you this year because I'm now at California" sliding my phone to my left ear because my right ear was sweating like hell. "so happy birthday!!" Pulling the phone from my ear. I think my left ear is gonna be deaf.

Then it dawn on me that I forgot my own birthday. I can't believe I've been so caught on with my life drama that i forgot it's my birthday.

"Thanks darl. It's ok if you can't celebrate it with me. But after you come back from California you owe me ok" threatening her to buy me dinner or something special would be a good idea.

"Yeah yeah I know. I don't need you to tell me what to do" I just chuckle and shook my head at he sassiness.

"Hey I gotta go. I'm working" I quickly hang up before she could say anything.

Actually I'm just gonna sit there and wonder what's in plan on my birthday that I forgot. Let me be honest here. I don't know shit about what I'm gonna do on my birthday.

Then all of us were called on for a staff meeting. I brought my file and some notes with me.

Walking into the room where there's a huge table and sorted in front is non-other than Justin.

Justin saw me and asked me to sit beside him. Reluctantly I obeyed him and say beside him.

When everyone was seated Justin stood up and asked all of us to look at the slideshow which is behind me and Justin so I moved a little bit so that people could see the slideshow.

Slowly the room became dark then the slideshow brighten. Then a baby picture of me suddenly appeared.

I was shocked,well shocked was an understatement I was beyond shocked. I didn't know if I should be happy or humiliated.

Then it changed into a picture of me when i first start to crawl. Then it changed into when I was a kid then into teen the when I was in college.

Then at the end of the slideshow it's not a picture but words. It says

Happy birthday to our fellow worker Jenna who have been so loyal to her fellow colleagues and friends. We wish you a very blessed birthday!

I didn't know that I was crying until I felt that my cheeks were damp and my tears were falling down to my folded hands. I was so touched that they all remembered my birthday. I slowly stood up and they all screamed

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNA!" and right on queue Abigail walks in with a huge chocolate cake that's covered with nuts and candles.

Covering my mouth with my hands and slowly wiping away my tears of joy I walked up to her and said "Is this your idea?"

"Well I'm not gonna take all the credit. I was just thinking to go have a dinner with you but then Justin here says we should give you a surprise." Abigail said and slowly put the cake down to give me her famous bone-crushing hugs that I actually loved.

I hugged her back and turn around to face Justin.

"Come here you" I said opening my arms wide to give Justin a hug. I could hear the whole people applaud. "Thank you so much for the surprise. No ones ever done such and incredible thing for me." whispering to Justin so that only both of us could hear.

"Your welcome" he whispered back to me "besides you need to feel more appreciated. Your such a wonderful person and you deserve it" putting both his hands on my shoulder so that I can face him giving me a genuine smile then walk away to talk to the others.

Seeing that I'm not talking with anyone anymore. Everyone decided to come swarm around me like their the bee and I'm the honey. Some wished me and gave me presents and some just promised to give me another day cause they didn't know when my birthday was.

Today at work was awesome. I wonder will things be as awesome when I get back home.

First of all I want to wish all of you guys a happy Chinese New Year!! Woohoo!! Bring em the red packets. Did any of you guys get red packets from your relatives or neighbour? I sure did. Sorry for the late update though. I've been pretty busy with Chinese New Year going to houses getting red packets. Gosh it's so tiring.
