*Staring at the clock*
*Heart getting restless*
*Sipping my already empty coffee*
*Staring at strangers*
*ding*
My eyes immediately dart to the entrance of the coffee shop as I hear the bell chimed when the coffee shop door opened and relieved washed over me as I see my best friend Paige standing there trying to find me. Even after all these years she's still so beautiful. Never have I not seen any men throw themselves at her, but knowing Paige and her picky attitude those men do not stand a chance. All the years of friendship never once did I not see a man chase after her and straight up ended with her rejection. Paige is a very persistent and a very picky lady. Not only that but it was very hard to handle her at first. But once you're close to her she's not that bad and it was that way I learned how she was when I first met her. Lucky for her she met someone like me, a hotheaded kid who won't take no as an answer and won't give up easily. Paige and I go way way back, at that time we were both 8 years old and our parents were close friends. I remembered the day my parents said we were gonna have people come to our house for dinner. Turns out the people who were coming over were Paige's parents. When she stepped into our house she had a very cold expression. While me on the other hand -let's just say my parents had to shove some food into my mouth to shut me up- I'm different and everyone who saw me growing up knew that about me.
Now we're both 24 years old with a great job and loving family. What more could I ask for right? All I want is a normal and simple life with my loving family and my bestfriend by my side as we both grow old together. It wasn't easy for Paige to open up to me at first, there were a lot of coaxing going around with some bribery of food. After that we were inseparable, everything must be done together. We went to the same school up till college and even went for the same internship. But alas we went to different companies to work. But we always find time for each other.
"Hey Jenna! Girl you look absolutely stunning" Paige said interrupting my thoughts. "If I were a guy I would have flirted with you," Paige winked my way. I chuckled and shove her lightly
"Finally! Took you long enough to come here. I've been here for hours," actually maybe about an hour to be precise but I just like to see Paige's face whenever she's guilty. "I'm just kidding" I quickly said "I arrived about an hour ago, so that explains my already empty coffee" I said raising my empty coffee cup in front of her annoyed face.
Paige glared at me and punched my side then proceed to turn and walk to the counter. Sheesh for a girl she's pretty rough. Note to self people never mess with Paige when she's pissed. I quickly rush to her side and bump her side a little "You're not seriously mad at me right?" I asked as I stare at her face trying to find any hint of smirk or maybe smile while rubbing the side my arm.
"Maybe" she said as she turn her head away from me trying to hide her face, but not quick enough because I could see the hint of smile on her face.
"Oh come one Paige. Here let me help you order your coffee while you sit here" I held her shoulders then twist her around to the table with my half empty coffee on the table
Paige glared at me with a smile on her face as she cross her arms and said "Fine, but it's on you" she said pointing at me as she squint her eyes at me
"Alright alright" I raise both my hands up in surrender
I turn to walk up to the people lining up at the counter. As I was walking to line up at the counter, I fished out my phone from my pocket to see if I've gotten any messages but clumsy me wasn't looking at where I was going which made me bump into someone's back and landed flat on my behind. I grimaced at the pain
