Roads And Maps - Aru Shah

Yeah, not gonna happen.

Aru's POV

My eyes started to flutter open. I was lying on cold hard ground. I should've known that Ava was going to do something like this.  If I've learned anything, it's that Ava doesn't like me and doesn't plan on liking me any time soon. 

Maybe Aiden put her up to this. 

Wait. That doesn't make any sense. He doesn't have any major reason to hate me.

Except for that I accidentally kissed him, his girlfriend hates me, and I just appeared out of nowhere. Whoops.

My mom will kill me if I don't get home before midnight.

I'm a Pandava. I shouldn't need help. I should be able to take care of myself. 

"Sit down in that chair," Ava demanded. The chair was in the middle of the darkroom. It looked like I was going to get interrogated. Once I sat down, she tied up my torso and arms. 

"Don't pull any dumb stuff, Aru. It's one untied person who is a black belt in karate against one normal person," Ava bragged.

"One? Wow. You really think I'm so dumb that I can't count?"

"Honestly? Yes." 

I'm so confused. What did I do to Ava to get her to hate me so much? How does she always happen to come in at the worst times?

Hours passed by. What felt like hours might as well be days. 

*Ring ring*

"Aru, who could possibly be calling you?" I looked at my phone that was on the ground. I saw Aiden's number on the screen. Ava picked it up and put it on speakerphone.

"Aru. It's already 3 am. I know I may seem like a terrible friend but please come back to the museum and talk to us. We are worried."

 3 AM?! So it hasn't been days. Just 3 hours.

"Oh, this isn't Aru babe."

"Ava! Wait. Where is Aru?"

"Am I nothing to you anymore Aiden? Did you just forget about me once you kissed Aru?"

"Definitely not forgetting you. You did kidnap me," I snapped at Ava. Ava came closer and used her hand to adjust my head to look up at her.

"Watch it. Anyway, Aru can't talk at the moment. Adios!" With that last remark, Ava hung up. 

"Would you mind telling me, why you kidnapped me?" I looked at Ava. She started laughing hysterically.

"Why is that so funny?"

"You have hurt the one I love so much. I need to kill you before you can make any more troubles in my life," Ava laughed out.

"You're not killing her." I looked over to see Brynne. 

How the heck? I mean thank god that she came! But how?!

"Not without me anyways," Brynne smiled. 

"What?" I said confused.

"What use can you be to me Brynne?" Ava asked.

Brynne took out GoGo and made a mini-tornado. It sent Ava flying back.

"I think I can be pretty beneficial to you."

Well, I'm really dead now. My eyes were watering and I stared at Brynne. How could she do this? She is my sister and she is offering to help kill me. Now she can kill me knowing that every day we were fighting some demon together, was just all one big joke to her. Knowing that, hurt me even more than dying.
