AN: This is the only chapter in the book that is really going to have the Sleeper's POV in it.

Aru's POV

-A week later-

"Wakey wakey!" my dad said as he flicked my shoulder. He can wake me up and I will be mad at him first thing in the morning. You would think he would just let me sleep.

Also, who wakes someone up by flicking them?

I slowly opened my eyes and looked outside to see if the sun was out. Of course, it wasn't. It was as dark as a never-ending hole. I looked back over at him and hair fell into my eyes.

"You know what part I love about waking up early in the morning?" I asked, pushing the hair back out of my sight.

"You never wake up early."

He isn't lying. I love my sleep and I need it. So I sleep until noon most days.

"None of it. I hate waking up early. Now let me go back to sleep." I put the blanket over my head just for him to rip it off. "I was using that!"

I fought him for the blanket but he won.

"You would think that you would like sleep since you're the Sleeper and all, but apparently not."

He ignored what I said. "Your hair is very frizzy," he said handing me my brush.

I rolled my eyes and brushed my hair. "If you're expecting bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, go catch a squirrel. We have plenty of those down in Atlanta and here in New York," I snapped.

"Your attitude is not appreciated," he scowled.

"Want to know what else isn't appreciated? Waking me up at 4:45 in the morning!"

I heard the birds chirping loudly outside the window. "What the heck are you so excited about?" I yelled at the birds. I threw my pillow at the glass and some of the birds flew away.

"I understand you are still mad at me for what I said last week but, I need you to help me win this fight in like four hours."

See, Brynne? I am useful at times.

"Couldn't you wake me up in three hours? And why do you need me? You're the great and powerful Sleeper."

"You would be considered a weakness to the other team," he smiled. He opened the blinds and street lights flooded through the window.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I walked around in my Iron Man pajamas and got an apple.

"The other side loves kids, and they wouldn't hurt you. It would give us the benefit."

"Why should I help you?" I asked, biting into my apple. It was tart, and I scrunched up my face.

"I noticed your tattoos."

I threw my apple core at him and washed my hands. "Fine, I guess. I'm not hurting anyone though."

The Sleeper mumbled something, but I couldn't hear what.

I walked over to the window and stared at the moon.

"Wherever you guys are, I love you and miss you," I whispered when I put my forehead against the glass.

The Sleeper's POV

My plan was to make Aru as mad as possible. That shouldn't take a lot, I have angered her many times in the past and I am very good at it. I just keep pushing buttons until I hit the right one and then her tattoo will grow, hopefully in my favor.
